Question about facebook ads

Hey Warriors....I just bought a Facebook WSO, and was thinking about creating a fan page to promote a weight loss CPA offer. I want to utilize facebook's ads to gain some initial fans and get the ball rolling. Unfortunately, I just heard a rumor that facebook no longer allows ads about weight loss....anyone know if there is any truth behind this?

Thanks guys!

Facebook ads drive me nuts. They seem so hard to set up, etc. and I'm pretty technically adept. I wish they would make the process a bit easier. I'd probably use it.

They will allow it if it is a legit offer and you have had met their ad and lp guidelines. Check out this pdf on weight loss ads - FB Advertiser Members Area Members Only Area

If you follow the above guidelines set by them in the pdf, i am sure you will get it approved.

I have never heard something about it, but I think you should check their TOS and guidelines to make sure:

    TOS
Statement of Rights and Responsibilities | Facebook

    Guidelines
    Advertising Guidelines | Facebook

I know that getting ads approved on their PPC platform can be abit tough, but it doesn't mean that they don't allow a specific vertical. Maybe a specific type of offers, such as free trials without good and clear disclaimers.

They limit you to how you can phrase the headlines and body of the ad. If it can be misconstrued as negative or demeaning in any way to the user it won't get through.

      Hey guys.

I just got the scoop from Facebook about the weight loss ads. (someone from their ad team emailed me) There are only certain weight loss ads they are prohibiting, such as the ones for **** Berry products. That is the one the rep specifically mentioned in the email, they say too much fraud has gone on surrounding particular offer, but not all weight loss ads are prohibited.

Just wanted to let you all know in case you were planning to try to promote an **** offer on facebook.

Thanks for the update on that April. The FB ads approval team is insanely inconsistent, so it's nice to at least know they'll be firm on rejecting pages/ads with **** Berry offers. At least if anybody reads this, they wont try to keep resubmitting **** berry ads!

Yeah they won't allow any weight loss free trials - whether it's **** or not as far as I have seen.

I do see a lot of people promoting cost per sale weight loss offers on there though.

Alternatively - you could build an email list and email them the offers - that way Facebook doesn't have a say in it.
