Starting to get frustrated

Hi

I have been testing different offers (mostly CPA) with paid traffic from Facebook and also mobile offers via Adfonic.

I have done a great deal of reading and followed a few courses. However absolutely none of the offers convert. Even with over 500 clicks still nothing. I have split tested, tweaked, changed demographics etc etc

I have even copied exactly what one of my friends does and he gets the offer to convert, but still nothing...

Obviously people are making money from promoting offers but it must be a minority (otherwise there wouldn't be such a market in attempting to teach people how)

I would like to know how do these people make any money from affiliate marketing in general? Other than throw pot loads of cash into testing I cant seem to identify how they are so successful.

For the people who have managed to get it to work, how did you make the transition from my position to actually making money from offers!

Thanks
Tim

Tailor your offer to your audience more. Niche it way down, learn pre selling, use landing pages.

    Ex.

    Ad

"24 Year Old Drivers Get Insurance For $17 a Month!"
Are you 24? New bill passed may qualify you for $17 a month insurance!

    Landing page

    Drivers Apply Below
You May Qualify For Our Special Rates

Are you at least 24? A new bill passed may effect drivers in [state]. Apply with the companies below to see if you qualify for $17 insurance.

[offers, short write up on each company]

    Hi Tim,

I mean without knowing exactly what you are doing, I cant give great advice.

But if your friend is doing the exact same thing and seeing results, then you know it works and just need to figure out what you are doing wrong. Perhaps its as simple as not doing enough of what youre doing. This is actually quite common. I have people contact me all the time telling me they put up 10 videos and have only earned $14 in the last month. I tell them, heck why not do 50 videos per day. That means over the course of the month you do 1500 videos as opposed to the 10, meaning your profits should be 150x. Instead of $14, you would have made $2100. Some people just dont do enough volume of any one thing to actually see meaningful results.

Or perhaps you are doing something technically wrong. Its hard to know what, but maybe your affiliate link isnt running properly, either because you are re-directing and doing the html right.

Or perhaps its a design issue. Perhaps your LP isnt good and doesnt funnel visitors to the call to action. I am amazed at how little things you do can dramatically increase conversions.

Perhaps its a marketing problem. Perhaps your targeting or message isnt good. The more you know about your target, the more you can divide your audience and then create specific targeted marketing messages for each of those divisions, resulting in increased conversion rate.

There are a lot of different things it can be, but one thing I learned doing this is that little things can make big differences. Changing just a few little, seemingly insignificant things can drastically change the outcome.

Give us some more details so we can help you out better.

It is frustrating when you duplicate someone Else's success and can't get the results that they are getting. I sat through a webinar on doing a twitter ppc campaign and so far I haven't gotten it to work, although the presenters claim to be getting hundreds of leads per week.

when you will find a campaign making $500-1000/day, it will not last for long,
reason- *scrubbing*, so affiliate marketing is not easy. I am not discouraging you but this is the sad truth of affiliate marketing.

First learn how to make your target market become responsive to your offers. Help them first, give them e-books that would help them then inside the book, put all your offers or CPA offers. Make it viral. Upload it to different DOC sites. Study your market very well.

A couple of checks can be made to determine what you are doing wrong.
    Is your traffic targeted enough?
Is your page relevant to the offer?
Are you using your own landing page to diversify your offer?
What is the EPC of the offers in the network?
Is the landing page clear and signing up easy?

Send in the answers and I am sure we can work out what it is together.

    P. S. Mobile offers are hard to convert unless you have a laser targeted traffic

    The above checks are good.

Its really hard to figure out whats wrong without actually knowing what you did and what the other person did.

    I will tell you this...

Small changes can dramatically change your bottom line in this game. This is a good thing. Perhaps you are doing something very simple wrong or forgot to do something quickly. Its frustrating as heck I'm sure but welcome to IM!

Can't you just ask your friend to look over your campaign?

Your situation probably fits another post that I made a few days ago:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/ad-netwo...money-2-a.html

If I had to bet I would say that you are not doing everything wrong. On the contrary, you are probably missing something very small.

A very important lesson that I've learned about this business is that the secret to make money online (specially with paid traffic) is not to know how to choose offers, make keyword research, split-test ads, etc... Anyone can do it. If you didn't know how to do these things I could chat with you on Skype for 15 minutes and show you everything. As simple as 1, 2, 3.

What really makes the difference and stops a beginner from being a full-time internet marketer is the approach. It's not about the offer that you have, but the way you present the offer to your visitors.

Just a few minutes ago I got an email from a guy saying that he had a good EPC (it means that his offer was converting well), but the CTR of his ad was terrible, and since he was paying per impressions his campaigns was not profitable. I then checked his ad and noticed that he was using an approach that was the right one for his campaign. He had the right offer and was probably targeting the right public, but the way he was presenting the offer was not good. I then suggested him a different approach. I still don't know if my suggestion will improve his CTR, since I replied to his email just a few minutes ago, but I'm sure that the approach I suggested to him is much better than the one he was using. You can see another example on the thread that I suggested you above.

What I mean by this is that you need to change small things, deal with more subjective aspects. If you have a campaigns that's working for another person you are probably doing almost everything right, so you need to find what's the small piece that's not right. Do not only split-test images, ad copies and landing pages, also split-test approaches. Try to change people's mindset by exposing them to the offer with a different approach and maybe you will find something that converts.

I know it's not all that simple, but it's not hard either. Just try to understand your visitors and offer them exactly what they want. Get into people's mind and find out what would solve their problem. If you can't fiigure it out, simply test! The approach that you're using know is not working, so try something different. Just be creative and find different ways to offer the same thing.

I'd like to thank everyone for chipping in on this and offering advice. I feel like I am so close to actually making this convert.

I have made some changed and changed my approach and now this is where I'm at:

I have a nice website with a popup optin box promoting a free ebook.
This has dramatically increased optins so i'm happy about that...

Next on the thank you page I promote a free trial offer as a "secret bonus" I tested differnt styles of copy etc and this seems to be working just fine with another great click through rate showing that i am obviously managing to promote the offer well...

The problem I have now is that these people who click through and get to the order form for the free trial are not following it through completley and exiting at this point.

There is obviously something off putting about the order form. It could be that there is a small delivery charge which I didnt know about (it pays to fill out the form yourself!) Obviously I cant do anything about the page or the charge but I have edited my copy slightly and i am upfront about the small delivery charge involved with the 'free' trial.

Off the top of my head this could be the only reason why im losing people at this point. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Sometimes I think that the sales are not being recorded properly but all of the other tracking and impressions are fine so I think this is just me making excuses haha!

    Thanks again!
