How Would You Track This?

I'm doing SEO for a company and I've created a network of feeder blogs.

I've loaded the blogs with banners that I'm rotating using Open X.

Does anybody know how I can track the number of sales made through these banners? Open X shows the impressions and clicks, but I want to see what sales I'm actually responsible for bringing in with my feeder blogs.

Also, I'm doing article and video marketing. How do I track any sales made from those methods?

So far, the only proof I have of my efforts working is an overall increase in online sales since I started and an increase of traffic that can be seen with Google analytics.

Thanks for any advice you may have. I just want to show the people I'm working for what their ROI is.

Regards,

Zach

    Hey Zach

I do something similar with OpenX and I track which site and which banner gets clicks and sales using Prosper202.

I set up the campaign in Prosper, then make each individual site an advertiser. For each different banner, I then just include a parameter in the keyword tag such as "728x90_V1", "160x600_V4" etc. So then using an advertiser and keyword breakdown I can see exactly where the clicks come from.

To complete the process, just make a call back URL for a completed sale and you can track the entire sale right back to which banner and which site made the conversion. (You can also see which site it comes from using the referer URL in Prosper)

    Hope that's not too confusing

    Cheers

I have to admit that I'm confused as I've never used Prosper. I'm going to learn more about it and try to combine what I learn with your advice. Hopefully, I'll figure it out. Thank you very much.

I think that P202 is by far the best way to track your conversions, but maybe simple subIDs would be enough to at least know how many conversions each banner has generated.

        Filter has it correct.

You can also download the latest version 1.6: Prosper202 1.6 Beta Download and Release Documentation

It's in beta, but works good.

There are place holders for "C" variables when you add your links in step #3. You can also use those to designate each blog and each banner.

So you only have to create a single campaign and then use the "C" variables to know what's working and what's not.

        Just an option.

Here's a video on how to setup your own products with Prosper202... It's for the older versions 1.3.2 and prior, but it will help you out.

        Hope that helps.

        Thanks,
