CPA Marketers -- Please answer this...

More and more often I am finding "free" things, but in order to get them I have to answer a questionnaire. Then i have to enter my name, email and Cell Phone number.

Just what happens when I enter my cell number? Do I get spammed to death?

Sometimes I am pretty interested in the offers, I sometimes and willing to pay a bit, but to risk having my phone irreversibly spammed? NO WAY!

Read the fine print of whatever you are subscribing to...There are many CPA offers that get you to subscribe to premium services but not all...It should be made clear somewhere in the offer page, often from a very small link in very small print.
Is what you are getting free worth it?

If it's only an email subscribe...don't use your main email address.

There is NO fine print. I looked several times and could not find it. I always stopped at the form asking for the phone number.

I use disposable email for signing up to anything I am not sure about.

Next time I find one, I'll have to post it here.

      Thanks
      Buck

They are lead gens your getting a call from someone or a 100 hehe..

Many of them break the leads down into categories by the way you answer questionnaires... then off to sell the leads they go. 8)

What is a CPA? Am I correct in assuming it is something like the offer for a free laptop for taking part in testing it, and then when you open the email, you find out you have to purchase from 10 offers before you actually get the laptop?

CPA stands for Cost Per Action. The CPA promotion you mentioned is only one of many CPA offers. They range from Credit card offers to Gift cards and anywhere in between.

Chances are that when you enter your cell phone number you are also signing up for some sort of promotion that will cause you to receive MANY BS texts to your cell phone for a monthly fee of $9.95.

Make sure you read the ENTIRE page BEFORE you enter your cell phone number. Even if you don't get charged $9.95 every month who needs to get deluged with useless text messages on a daily basis?

Your phone number and email are sold to other marketers...

The level of communication you will get will depend entirely upon who buys your information...

p.s. In most cases, it will not last more than a month or so, because most buyers of information want "fresh leads"... Anything older than a month really is not that valuable to anyone...

Thank you all very much, I was wondering.

Just curious, how much do they pay for these leads? I see them a lot now.

    Thanks.

If there is no fine print giving the garantee that your information will remain confidential, then it certainly won't.

Best thing to do is to devote an email address for this purpose and (if possible) get a special cell phone number for it.

I broke down and tried one of the offers, but it would not go through as the number was "invalid". All I can figure is that I have a number with an area code different from where I live.

I learned to be very cautious about giving my phone number out because of certain Internet Marketers and what is taught. First, some teach that part of the sales funnel is to take leads that do not generate sales and feed them to aggressive telemarketers to try to make upsales and affiliate sales.

But what really got me was when I filled in a form at 3am for a marketer in order to get a free report. It said they would not sell my info, but it didn't say it would not call me at 3am everyday updating me on the progress of their launch. I happened to be up that day, but I didn't intend to be woke up at that time every day for the next two weeks!

Thank you all for your responses.
