Best Software for building Landing Pages?

What is the best software for building a custom landing page? I'm looking at getting some adobe software. Wondering what people are using and loving.

You're going to need something to design and something to code. If you want to pay for Adobe, dreamweaver & photoshop.

If you want something open source, look at gimp.org for graphics and notepad ++ or ps pad for code editing.

There are softwares that will auto-generate landing, but I'm old school and prefer to code it.

Or you could buy a template and customize it (though you'll still need the two programs).

    Best wishes,
    Nick

Photoshop and DW are great, but unless you have money to burn then get yourself GIMP and kompozer (both free downloads). Pick up Beginning Gimp book by Akkana Peck too, as it will get you primed fast.

They are more then enough for landing pages.

Photoshop and Dreamweaver and perhaps Illustrator. Many of the web site images will also be either a photoshop .psd file or illustrator file.

Okay, Thankfully I'm a student and I'm getting a mac soon. When I do that I'll be picking up Adobe CS5 Masters Edition mainly because it has webdesign stuff plus soundbooth and after effects. Till then I'll be using Gimp and Kompozer

Definitely Dreamweaver and Photoshop for more advanced pages.

I also like 90 Second Website Builder 6 for knocking out basic designs (great for PPV especially)

For PPV landers, I use Bluevoda. Ugly landers seem to convert better with PPV for some bizarre reason. Bluevoda is perfect for this.

I'm surprised so many people use landing page creators for PPV. For PPV/CPV, my lander usually only contains a centered (sliced) image, created with GIMP.

I downloaded Gimp and Kompozer last night and may I say THANK YOU for telling me about these programs. I've used a lot of software when I was in college and highschool in computer classes. Notepad++. Or TextMate on a Mac.

It's worth your while to learn some basic HTML. That way you're not stuck using other people's templates all the time. You can literally create anything you want:

The perfect combination for me is Photoshop + Dreamweaver. However, if you don't want to buy them (I admit that both are expensive) I think that you can try GIMP + NVU, which are completely free.

You can learn how to use these softwares by making some research on YouTube. It will take some time and effort, but being able to design your own sites will make a big difference for your business. Technical skills are not essential in this business, but they do help a lot, specially if you can't afford freelance web designers.

Dream weaver and photoshop all the way. Also wordstream is ok and has a free trial if you just need to make something once or twice and don't want to dump the cash into adobe.

Lately I've been trying to just outsource LPs as much as possible. If anyone is interested in making 1 or 2 occassionally and wants to be on my contact list when i need to get one done, feel free to PM me.

Photoshop is a great product. But, it is expensive and probably over kill for what you want to do. GIMP will be more than adequate or even the online program pixlr.com.

I use a free online program called easel (easel.io) which allows you to create up three pages before you have to delete on to make room for more (unless you have a paid version). However, without HTML and CSS knowledge, it will be difficult to use.

Unbounce (unbounce.com) has a nice online editor that will permit you to create a very nice landing page. Again, you can only create a limited amount if you use the free edition. If you want to download the page you create and use it locally on your computer, use webHTTrac. This will capture the page's code so you can then use it in NVU, Komposer, Dreamweaver or an editor (I use a free editor called BlueFish).

But, no matter what you do, take the advice of some of the people here and start to learn some HTML. It is not hard and there are a ton of free learning resources on the web. If you plan to be in paid advertising, it is a skill you will want to have.

As everyone has stated, learning the basics of HTML and PHP will help you immensely, go to W3Schools for loads of free information to get you started. Also, as you are learning, you will be creating little snippets of code for your sites. Keep these snippets, save each one in a separate note pad doc. Put them in a folder and organize them. First rule of coding is "never write a line of code anyone else can understand" (joking). Second rule is save your code, you can use your code over and over, copy and paste will save you time.

There are a large number of landing page options. Build your own, subscribe to a service (one or two have been in this thread that are useful), learn a graphics program (I use PhotoShop, but there are many that are free). BTW, you can usually find old versions of PhotoShop dirt cheap through authorized re-sellers.

Don't be intimidated, don't be rushed, within a couple of weeks you will be light years ahead of those that don't do this, and that is the majority. Be one of the winners with these few simple steps. It's your future.....!

I am surprised in regard to how many people made, what I call a significant investment in Dreamweaver and Photoshop.
Photoshop is nice but you will only be using a tiny fraction of it to create web graphics. A little time spent with GIMP would do it. I do love Dreamweaver though. However, nowadays I use an HTML editor.

The "quality" of your landing page is independent of the software you use. It is the software that is between your ears that will make the difference.

I have GIMP and Photoshop. You cannot tell the difference between a banner made on one or the other.

I have Dreamweaver and an HTML editor called BlueFish. You cannot tell the difference between a page made with either. For that matter, nor can you see the difference if I used Notepad.

Dreamweaver is easy to use. But you could download Kompozer or even Blue Griffon which is much newer and provides a WYSIWYG editor for free.

If money is no object, get the Adobe products. Otherwise, use your money for ads.

Adobe fireworks is 100x better than photoshop. And it's super easy to convert your page into html format. I've been using it for years for cpa landing pages. Unfortunately online website builder don't give you the flexibility. For cpa Landers or other custom landing pages you can't go wrong with Fireworks.

Here's an examples of pages I created in Fireworks
