Pay per call - mobile

I put up a pay per call ad via the mobile platform Adfonic. This was my first one. I thought that the way they work, provided you put the ad in as "pay per call", when someone touches the banner or text link the call is immediately placed.

My results on Adfonic were fine, over a 100 clicks. But when I look at the pay per call network there were no calls.

How is that possible IF the call is made the moment someone clicks or touches the banner?

I tested it myself by calling it and hanging up within a few seconds (I get payed only if they stay on the phone for 1 min, but any call shows up as a call), that showed up on the pay per call network as the only call.

Any thoughts? I just can't figure out what happened.

Thanks,

Mike

the advertiser will only pay if they consider the call a "quality call",typically only about 10% of calls are approved.

Thanks. My question though is why the calls didn't register. My 'test' call that was on 3 seconds in length registered as a call, do you think all 100+ people that click the banner and whose phones immediately made the call hung up before getting through?

I just want to figure out what the problem is, why no call registered (whether I got paid or not) so I know what to do with future ads.

I think when the user taps/clicks on the banner(your ad) the call will not be places but a screen will appear asking permission of the user to place the call.May be at this stage users hang up/close the screen !

I'm looking for some good pay per call offers right now but not many networks seem to have them....

The only 2 I've seen have been Commission Junction and RevEngine. Are there any other good places to find them?

firstrate, as far as I know all PPcall offers go through ringrevenue and then CJ or OfferMobi, LinkShare, etc. set up their PPcall offers through them.

I have the approval through a few and the ones via CJ far much better and more numerous than the others.

Since it is all through RingRevenue you'd think they'd all have the same offers, wouldn't you?

    Hey Guys,

Yea... PPCall is an interesting beast. Sounds like what could have happened are azz calls and/or smart phone 1/2 calls.

Azz calls = person's phone calling from their pocket

smart phone 1/2 calls = when someone clicks on a Click to Call ad, they're prompted with an option to complete the call or to click "NO" in which no call will be made

If they click your ad then click no, it'll register in your mobile ad network reporting, but won't register a call in your PPCall account.

One thing successful affiliates are doing is creating their own mobile optimized landing pages instead of a straight ad. Be sure to check with your CPA network about receiving approval for your self created pages before launching them live.

    Take Care!
