CPA Flyer Method

I was recently accepted to a CPA network and prior to implementing some of the more traditional traffic methods I'd like to give the "Flyer Method" a try and see if I can geneate some fairly quick cashflow to reinvest in other traffic methods.

I know that some of you have done this with success (Kenster, Cory, and others)

The Netflix 2 week trial is what I had in mind but in talking to my affiliate manager, he informed me that Netflix can be a bit difficult to work with and is the only advertiser in their posse that doesn't provide real time statistics.

Apparently it can take up to two weeks to get the stats which doesn't make it a very good choice for the Flyer Method where you need to know much sooner if the efforts are paying off.

So, I am considering a different offer and would very much appreciate some suggestions on specific offers or niches that some of you have had success with.

Thanks Alot!

  • I think that Netflix's competitors such as Blockbuster also have similar offers, so maybe you should see what they offer (I think that you will need to work directly with them, though).

  • Thanks for the tip!
  • Hi Bill,

Netflix is a bit tricky and to be perfectly honest most affiliate managers don't like newbies doing it offline, so that's pretty cool that you were allowed right from the start.

I did a lot of teeth whitening RFTs offline quite successfully and though I cant remember the exact data, I know they converted pretty well. Though the offers in general have not been converting quite as well (as they tighten up on abiding by FTC guidelines) I'm sure it would be pretty similiar to when I was doing it.

Make sure to localize your flyers

    • I did and am giving consideration to the teeth whitening offers. Not sure how they would convert in a mall parking lot, but I won't know until I test.

      Thanks
    • Kenster,

I read in a similar thread a memebr who had some success soliciting dentist offices into letting her place her flyers in their offices.

I respect and appreiciate her efforts in finding a very targeted market and making money with it but cold calling any brick and mortar biz is just not my cup of tea.

I like the idea of trying to target in an offline scenario, I'll have to do more brainstorming on this.

      Regards.

  • Have you considered putting ad's in newspapers? Instead of having to print loads of flyers off you'll only have to pay the set fee to place the ad or even no cost at all with some papers.

I haven't tried this method yet but it's something im definatly considering. I don't know whether it's best to post in online ad sites or actual newspapers. I think with the right ad, right domain, right offer, right newspaper you might be able to make a killing with this method.

    • If this worked, and was that easy and cheap, everyone would do it. Newspapers have lost a lot of viewers recently. I've heard friends telling me they've paid $100-$500 on ads recently only to come out with the big GOOSE EGG.

Now, if you're talking about popular magazines that's a different story. These are extremely expensive buys though, so your ads better be tested!
    • I did give some thought to newspaper classifieds. It would need to be a very inexpensive local "Penny Saver" type paper.

My main concern is that the circulation and readership has really dryed up due to electronic media, so I'm a bit gunshy, but if it's cheap enough I may reconsider.

      Thanks
  • Regarding newspaper ads, my town has a free weekly paper that comes in the mail. Pretty much everybody reads or at least browses through it, looking for ads and coupons. Running an ad in a popular free paper would probably work the best for conversions, especially if you are offering a hot item that is not available in the major stores. Maybe something seasonal. At least as long as your network or the advertiser would allow it.
