I've about had it with Maxbounty

And...I'm looking for a replacement.

I have 3 different advertisers that I pull from their database. The programs fit the sites demographics and what the users will do.

Repeatedly I have caught Maxbounty redirecting to a survey. My sites users wouldn't fill out a survey even if it kept the world from ending tomorrow. That's just the way it is.

Yet, maxbounty keeps redirecting the clicks from a banner ad to a survey. It doesn't even fit with the banner. I don't run surveys on that site or any other site of mine.

Ah well, change your strategy. Maxbounty are the most reliable CPA network out there.

      Or just use Neverblue.

Neverblue will also do the geographic redirects that I'm sure are happening with the OP.

We geo-redirect to ensure the affiliate can still have the chance to earn on the click sent. The campaign might not be related, but at least it's a live campaign. Your other option would be for us to send the traffic to a "this campaign is not available in your area" page, which would earn you $0.

You used to be my account manager.

If they are geo-redirects and I'm inclined to think so, is there a way to set a secondary campaign?

To direct the user to a survey will not work. I've tried repeatedly for monthly to get them to fill out a demographic survey. It ain't gonna happen. Even when I tried to entice them to do so.

It is a large amount of redirects though compared to what I see in the server logs.

There is no way to set a secondary campaign within Maxbounty (or any network that I'm aware of). However, why not do the redirect on your end? Setup the free Maxmind geo redirect, send all relevant users to the main offer, send all others to another one.

Or if you want to change what banners your user gets, depending on their location, setup an ad server like OpenX (also free). That way you have total control on who sees what and where they get sent.

That would be using a third party as a pass-through...I think.

So...it would work like this (?)...

              1. User clicks a banner promotion

              2. User is geographicly filtered to the correct/appropreiate offer.

              3. Hopefully, the user does something and I get paid. (that's sarcasism but I wanted to follow it through)

Here's the underlining problem I see:

I would have to alter the code from maxbounty to do that because of the banner display that the user initially sees on my site.

              Or...

Do you have a different setup that I'm not seeing here?

p.s. MediaBurst has an option to set secondary offers but, that's a CPM database.

Slagging off top notch CPA networks is not always a good idea. Especially in public.

Well she hasn't used her full name at this forum! "debra" may not even be her real name and even if it is, without a last name Maxbounty can't ban her!

So true, it sounds like she may be doing something fishy here, and isn't telling us the whole story. I've never had issues with Maxbounty, and they're definitely one of the better CPA networks I've encountered.

Nothing "fishy". I don't waste my time on such things.

It's my real name. And Maxbounty has no reason or desires to ban me.

I'm also a member of Maxbounty and I'm curious as to what the explanation was for redirecting your traffic.

It will happen with all networks when people from a country that's not accepted by the offer click on your link. However, some networks will allow you to choose what offers you want to display when people from certain country get redirected, so you can choose something better than the survey.

Yes this is very common - it's just a geo redirect.

It could also be that the offer has reached it's cap for the day. Just inquire with your AM -- no need to write off the whole network.

I'll try to be a little clearer. Basically you have two options:

    Option 1
    * All users see the same generic banner based around some type of offer (say win an iPad)
    * All clicks get redirected to your geo script
    * Depending on their location, users gets redirected to an offer that's available in their country.
    * The problem with this is that it may be very hard to find the same offer available in all countries

    Option 2
    * Setup an OpenX ad server
    * Setup different ads which get shown based on users location
    * Each ad directs to it's own offer
    * Each ad can be targeted to your demographic but can be totally unrelated to each other so no problem about finding the same offer available in all countries.

There is no "altering of the code from Maxbounty". It's simply that the user gets sent to different Maxbounty offers depending on their geo. Is that any clearer?

It is a little bit, but I am a female and not techie... Can anyone please help me with a good blueprint or strategy on redirects here, I would be very grateful!

      1. Which offers to redirect (evey single one?)
      2. What type of offers to redirect to

      Any advice would be appreciated.
