I have asked before about my website www.ringofpoker.com

How should I use this blog to make money. I have put a lot of time into the articles trying to make them as unique as possible. I have somewhere close to 60 articles already.

I have no paid advertising at all and at this moment have just over 400 vistors....average time on site of just over 5 minutes.....54% bounce rate....over 1400 page views.....average of 3.4 pages per vistors...48% direct traffic....31% search engine....and 19 from referrals...

I do not know anything about SEO or how to make money with this site. I have a few affilate programs set up with the poker rooms but no sign-ups yet...

Please help me out and I will thanks those worthy.

Thanks In Advance also!

    Hey imback,

Your blog looks good. There are a few things you could do that I can think of:

    1. Make your ads to the poker sites more prominent. At the moment you have them listed on the right hand side menu. Perhaps test a banner or something like that offering a free trial to one of the sites.

    2. You could write up a short report and capture your visitors emails. Something like "5 Essential Poker Strategies You Have To Know". You seem to know a lot about poker so that shouldn't be too hard. Then you can follow that up with promotions or guides that you can find on Clickbank...or even better write your own.

      Thanks so much....

I do know a lot about poker, but am very stubborn on the marketing and webmaster side.

Do you know of any plug ins or add ons for wordpress that will allow me to add a pop up or anything to capture their emails?

I am a warroom member also if that helps with any free products out there.

      Thanks again

I would get onto Aweber if you can afford it (it's cheap though) for your email stuff. They have an option to have the web form as a pop up or in within your blog.

First though, write your report and get your sales funnel set up before you go and subscribe to Aweber.

Why don't you place paid advertising from the start ?

I have not used paid advertising because I would like to use all free traffic until I make a little profit...

I also do not have any products or squeeze pages to really take advantage of those paid visitors.

I'm glad my thread has helped you though! Good Luck in the future and remember never give up because tomorrow could be a totally different day

This is dumb. Tried replying to this thread but it keeps taking forever. Stupid Technology...

Anyways, what I wanted to say was...
    ------------
400 visitors? Over what time period?

    A couple options are...

Adsense. Depending if it works out for you though.

Ad Network. Go for the bigger ones. Some of them require a certain amount of traffic though, but it can prove to be very lucrative.

Clickbank Affiliate. Depends on whether you want to put in some manual labor inserting links and images, but some products have a very good commission.

Sponsorship/Reviews. See if you can find a company in your niche willing to sponsor your blog for money/send you free stuff. This can be VERY lucrative, not to mention the free stuff.

Paid Blog posts. Depending on where you look and who you use, companies can purchase a "sponsored post", which means you write an article on them/about a product, but get paid from them. Sometimes this is a good source of income, but it could also be spammers trying to get cheap linkbacks.

Let us know how it goes, the site and the articles I read are pretty darn good imo. Keep it up!

The 400 visitors is only from the past 2 full months...That is when I made the site live...

And yes adsense will not work because my niche is poker/gambling

Also is 400 visitors good for 2 months and that's unique vistors

Another quick question how do you guys go about finding sponsorships or paid blog posts

or is it just a contact people yourself deal? Thanks for help

Ok. I would say wait until you get more traffic. Ad Networks are not possible at this point, they usually have a minimum limit of 5k/mo.

There are a handful of websites out there. What would you like to know more about? Sponsorships? Paid Blog Posts?

Let me know and I will be happy to expound.

    Hey imback,

I notice you are already affiliated with pokerstars and the like... I'd make them a bit more predominant, and add the links in the text (relevantly of course)

And try to ramp up the traffic amount, 400 is not enough, especially over 2 months

Try mailchimp if you need a free trial for an autoresponse (pretty good, letting you get up to 1k subscribers and send out 6k emails free) (non affiliated)

Delve deeper into learning about free traffic and keep at it

Open up your traffic sources if you haven't already... build youtube vids... more blogs linking to that one, articles, press releases, rss directory submission, social bookmarking (MANY sites), forum posting (on gambling forums, posting useful content).

Try some out, see what you like, stick to what you like and build up a strength at that traffic source.

    Have a good one,
