Yeah, as Chris said, VPN...
If you frequently need to access the internet as if you were connected in the US, a VPN is definitely the way to go... Moreso than by proxy. I recommend StrongVPN.com

Hi Jim,

I'm worst off. I live in Malaysia and I travel a lot to Europe, China & the Middle-East.

I'm facing 3 persistent issues because of that :

1. Got rejected by many Aff Networks. They just don't like my face & my pidgin English. Other than that, they mostly don't know what the heck is "Malaysia". So it must be a fake country, then this guy must be a fraudster.

2. Say, if I register with my Malaysian address (which is already not favourable to Aff Network) while being in Saudi Arabia for some months, the IP addresses are totally different. So I must be a monster fraudster.

3. Same as you. I can't preview most of the offers running for US and all other countries. What I can do is by looking at the write-ups and banners in their creative sections.

I have never faced such problems with LinkShare, CJ, Amazon and Google Affiliate. CPA is a different ball game altogether, where the market is highly US-based.

These issues make CPA somewhat exciting. Furthermore, its where the money is, so I'm not about to give up easily.

And Jim, thank you for this thread. From the tips, I can now sneak preview the offers LIVE.

Exactly. U.S. makes up only 30% of Facebook users online, while the other 70% are international. Facebook is one of the highest trafficked sites on the internet, so what does that tell you? Some of the most successful IMers I've seen are coming from countries you'd never expect. Everyone has pretty much an equal chance.

As everybody has pointed out...use proxies and you certainly dont need to live in the US to make money. The internet is the internet...there are certain circumstances where living in the US can help such as being a bit easier to get into CPA networks (though you wont have a problem in the UK) but living in the US wont make or break you at all in this industry.

On a similar note, sometimes I wish I didnt live in the US. Most commission are dollar based and dollars go A LOT farther in other countries than they do here

just because you are not living in the usa does not mean you can't get into trouble with the ftc.The FTC rules apply to anyone who is advertising online in the usa not matter where you live.

It does make a difference. It doesn't mean if you are outside you are invincible, but its a different ball game for sure.

This is slightly different but think of these Nigerian scams....many times they know who the people are and where they live but still can't or it doesn't make economical sense to do anything.

Buy a dedicated proxy, should only set you back around $5-10 per month.

It works better than the web proxies such as hidemyass and other free ones, because some offers have a proxy detection script, and won't let you view the page if you're using a proxy.

I haven't had that issue with the dedicated proxy, since I think the websites cannot detect that you're using a proxy server. And it's simple to use, just enter the proxy ip and the port in your browser configuration and you're all set.
