Which CPA networks allow you to Blank your traffic source? (blank referrer)

I have been suspicious of an affiliate manager stealing my traffic sources in the past at a smaller network.. Do you know if any of the bigger networks i.e. NeverBlue, MaxBounty, OfferVault will ban or refuse me my commissions if I use blank referrer on offers I am running with them?

I know many CPA networks run their own in-house campaigns, I just don't want mine to become one of them...

I'd suggest you talk to your AMs for approval, some networks don't allow it.

Btw, OfferVault is not a cpa network, it's a cpa offer search site.

It's a sticky issue. If you have history with a network, they are more open to it. If you are new, then they will automatically assume you are doing funky things.

Your best bet is to speak with your AM, tell them you have a good traffic source but dont wish to make it public and ask if you can at least send some traffic blanked to see how the lead quality checks out. Open communication is key here as AMs know you need to protect your assets but also need to protect themselves from a lot of the garbage that goes on.

So be open and be sure your AM is checking lead quality often at first to make sure it checks out

The second part of that question I guess is then... Does blanking the referrer hide the conversions country of origin as well?

I have an opportunity to JV with a friend of mine who owns an SEO network and could send me a lot of leads, but of course his traffic comes from all over the world, and I have yet to find a simple e-mail submit I can promote that accepts worldwide traffic... I know the traffic I would be getting is quality, and would generate me a lot of conversions, but my AMs only have offers for US/Canada and Australia for whatever reason

I am not sure if you found the solution you are looking for or not, but essentially all you need is an effective mechanism to rotate traffic based on the country of origin. Basically, this is called GEO-IP detection, and is not that hard to set up.

The biggest challenge will be finding email submits for the various countries, but once you've loaded them into your url rotator, you can significantly improve your bottom line as most networks redirect international traffic to offers that are entirely different in design, implementation, and monetization, i.e. if you sent greek traffic to a US email submit - they might easily end up on a landing page for toolbar download, or not get an offer at all.

So by implementing the geo-ip and url rotation scripts, you will definitely make more money. Hit me with a PM if you want to talk about it more. I can help you get started.

just be straight up.... I personally don't care if you send ref sources or not, however if we ask about it, we expect an honest conversation.

Best bet is to work with a CPA network that doesn't compete against its affiliates.

By the way, MB doesn't allow JVs.

If you feel you have to blank the referrer because you don't trust the AM, then do not deal with that network in the first place. Networks could honestly care less where your traffic comes from. Advertisers are the culprit here. They have their targets and if you're not meeting or EXCEEDING them, then they're going to ask what's up.

There is so much fraud out there that CPA networks deal with daily that it would blow your mind if you ever experienced it. It's nothing personal against you when they say no blanking referrers, it's just business.

Also blanking the referrer isn't 100% untraceable.

This is coming from somebody who owned a CPA network!

And I would just add that unless you are doing decent traffic numbers, things like this aren't always necessary. You can even spread out your traffic to a few networks and stay under the radar without your AMs even thinking you are onto something good

I want to be able to hide my referrer URL and traffic source from affiliate networks so that they can't see my landing pages and traffic sources. I have had a bad experience where a network ripped off my landing page and their internal marketing team started using it.

How would I be able to hide my referrer URL?

Fanatic.... XRevMedia does not run In-House campaigns. We NEVER want to compete with any of our publishers. As far as blanking your traffic source I would like to discuss a few things first. Click the link in my Signature and I will call you up tomorrow.
