If You Had $500 Where Would You Invest It?

by blillard
41 replies
Ok here's the thing I got about $500 in cash to spend for testing that's all i can come up with. So where would you fellow warriors suggest I do with this. Im a really having a hard time figuring it out with so much info out there. I been thinking small media buys, or ppv with a smaller network like directcpv or leadimpact.

I still got like $25 there that I haven't used yet lol it takes 24 hours for approval and then another if its not approved crazy time is money for me. Adowrds I is really pricey but I have been looking into bing and yahoo ppc. Any one try miva?

I wouldn't do PPC. I would join PPV Playbook - Winning Tactics for PPV, PPC, Media Buys and Social Marketing, learn as much as possible and get an account with Directcpv.

Don't blow your $500. Learn as much as possible. Set your PPV budget low ($10 a day perhaps), that way you won't lose your shirt. I you haven't already, you will need to get a domain name for tracking purposes.

PPV is not the way to go for a newbie....invest in seo first, then make your way into ppc, then, if you havent lost your shirt yet, get into ppv.

The problem with ppv for newbies is that there is alot of cloak and dagger stuff that goes on behind the scenes, and most of the money made on ppv is short lived. If your looking for long term growth, stick with the search engines. That is where the long term growth is anyway.

What i would do in your situation is start off small and take maybe 50-100 and invest in little things and see what works .. and once you find something solid use the rest of your money to scale it up

I would do some homework on what type of marketing you want to do and once you feel you have enough reading under your belt venture in to that area and start testing. You can test with $500 but it might take you a little longer because you will need to go slow. I would not do PPV or Media Buys with $500 as you need a much bigger budget to actually run some decent tests. Maybe try to tinker with PPC or Contextual. You can even play with the Tier 2 PPC engines like 7search or for contextual you can try out Pulse360.

No matter what avenue you take just make sure you are comfortable with what you are going to try and you understand what you are doing. Marketing isn't about throwing money out there and hoping it works. It's about understanding what you are doing and how to do it. Make sure you track everything including keywords, keyphrases, ad copy, and landing pages.

Good luck to you and I wish you the best in your ventures!

You don't need a FB ad uploader. You can start uploading ads manually. Actually, it's even better if you don't have experience with the platform, because this way you won't end up getting hundreds of ads rejected.

Although I admit that FB's approval system is a pain in the a**, I haven't been facing too many problems with them recently. If you read their ad guidelines, read the reasons why your ads get disapproved and contact them when you have questions, getting ads approved becomes easy. The hardest part is the CTR.

If I had $500 to spend - which I do, but I didn't get 'em, I worked for them - I would totally invest in a good domain, set up an affiliate website and double that money at least once.

Then I'd sell the website and keep doing so forever.

That could esaily be done by me through hasoffers wthout having to pay someone. I rather earn to be an affiliate first before doing something like that. I belieave in starting from the ground up you know. Beside there's way to many networks out anyways.

I want to thank everyone for your inputs. I figured out that I am going to buy some domians, make some sites hold a few and flip a few. Build on the money I managed to save instead of blowing it. I do admit it is easy to get ahead of yourself. I really feel by doing it this way and learning to master seo first from the ground up I'll be better off in the long run. Thanks again everyone.

I do not recommend CPV. I have found conversions to be poor unless you really know what you're doing.

I would sign up as an advertiser on a CPA network like neverblue, and put up an offer of 500 opt-ins for $1 each, or whatever the best price you can get is. This would be an easy way to get affiliates to work for you.

    Hey Blilard ,

It is hard to say you should invest your money in certain advertising platforms , because we don't actually know your knowledge and confidence in each of the traffic sources .

If you know how to do them the right way , PPC , PPV , media buys , etc . all work .

My advice is first study and master one traffic source . Once you are confident , then you can test .

    And...

If you decide to try PPV , make sure that you have a unique way of doing things . Unless you think outside of the box , you are not going to make it .

    In my opinion ...

the safest way to try is Facebook Ads for international traffic . What makes facebook ad safe is that you can start your campaigns with tested and proven ads by simply spying advertisers promoting for long period of time .

    Hope it helps .

My Idea would be Selecting the niche I like/good at, Doing some research on the market, setting plans, setting up a site and some SEO and finally monetizing with multiple streams. All these can be done with little investment but If you have a $500 Budget, you can hire people to do it in bigger and better way.
