keywords with some volume and no competition

Hello warrior experts.

I have found a set keywords around a particular topic and specific market. Each keyword gets an average of 3000 searches a month and total about 500k searches a month around this topic. There is no competition according to adwords...nobody is buying text ads around these keywords. How should I be thinking about these keywords? What would you do to take advantage or is there something I'm missing. Anyone care to share what your next steps would be to evaluate if there is any value to these keywords?

    At 500k searches a month with no competition I would wonder what you are missing because that's a dream come true and extremely rare to find.

      thats what I thought Aaron ...I just am wondering if I am missing something...and am not quite sure where to start....I suppose I should just set up some campaigns and test them out....Anyone ever come across at topic with reasonable volume keywords with no competion that are still duds??? I'm wondering why these keywords arent being bought...am I overthinking???

        Dive in. Why don't you buy a cheap ".info" domain and post a few articles. If it's in such high demand, with no competition, then you'll probably rank quickly.

        Hit the article marketing quickly on hubpages, squidoo etc. If you see traffic, then you can invest more time. Otherwise you might find out quickly what you're missing - if anything. Good luck.

          As stated here the best thing to do is to just dive in, set up a ppc campaign or throw up some articles and videos. If you're using free methods there really is nothing to lose.

          The fact that there is no competition does sound off alarms as I'm sure you're not the first person to have discovered this keyword but don't let that put you off, you may be on to a real winner or it could be a valuable llearning experience. Go take action.

    Since there are no advertisers I would be a bit cautious because it's not a healthy sign. First do a PPC for some highly targeted keywords and test the water. Since there are no advertisers you'll get clicks for cheap. If the traffic converts then don't think a second. Go for it. I've came across similar niches in the past but only few were worth the effort and made me money. So now I first test it and then only start building a site.

    You should test them in other keyword tools and you will see some changes surely.Otherwise it really seems impossible.
