Tips : Run a Successful PPC Campaign

1. Define a budget for your PPC campaign as here as an advertiser you will have to make payments on the basis of number of clicks.

2. The most important requirement for the success of any PPC campaign is selection of the right keywords. Only with the appropriate keywords one can promote an online business successfully through a PPC campaign.

3. Select targeted keywords with the help of different keywords tools such as Google Keywords tool, Wordtracker etc. You can hire a specialist teams of PPC experts to get your work done in a professional way.

4. Start bidding on the keywords that properly describe your online business, products or services to get conversions and generate good ROI (Return on investment).

5. Use separate keywords for different ads if there are multiple keywords related to the PPC management project. This will ensure higher clicks and higher conversion rate as well.

6. For successful PPC campaigns, the ad copies must be attractive and appealing to encourage viewers to buy your product. In fact, a compelling ad copy is must for any successful PPC campaign.

7. Create unique landing page with good call to action features so that the visitor gets to see the product or service directly that you want to sell online.

8. As far as PPC campaigns are concerned, always tell the truth about your business or services. If visitors come to your site and don't find the things as promised in the ad copy, it will lead to negative publicity for your site. You will end up spending a lot of money which won't fetch you conversions.

9. For any online business, priority must be given to higher conversion rate rather than higher click-through-rate (CTR). So, optimize the ad copies along with the landing pages on a regular basis. This will ensure better and higher conversion rate.

10. To ensure more visitors and better conversions, run the PPC ads on more than one PPC search engines. This way more people will get to see your ad copies which in turn will get you more qualified clicks.

11. Make sure your campaign follows the search engine rules as it's not going to work if it doesn't follow the rules. Hence read the rules, know them and follow them.

12. For the success of a PPC campaign hire an experienced team of dedicated professionals and campaign managers working in reputed PPC advertising companies to launch and maintain PPC campaigns, effectively.

13. The PPC management team must be well trained one so that they can critically analyze response to the ad copies and make required changes if necessary. There are various testing methods and tools which help you to evaluate the efficacy and success rate of your campaign. The PPC management team must be well versed in all these methods and tools to make a success of your campaign.

14. Remember, it is you who is spending all the money on the campaign. Hence, you must ensure high ROI from it. Monitor the success rate of the campaign closely on a daily basis. Check the response to your ad copies periodically yourself to make sure your campaign is on target.

    I disagree with this.

    it's ALL about the adcopy. Yes, keywords are important. But good keywords with ****ty adcopy does nothing for you.

    Use keyword mixer to permutate your own keywords.

    All in all, horrible tips. They aren't even tips, more like the corporate policy for new hires

    Try targeting other countries when you do your ppc campaigns. I found that their cost per click is much cheaper.

    They are really important and practical tips.

    But , you missed to stress on the importance of testing and tracking . I believe , testing and tracking is a very critical component of any PPC marketing campaing .

    So , I advice that you test ...test ....test.

    Hey nice tips ... but they are very, VERY basic.

    If you want to run a successful PPC campaigm, I'm afraid you need a heck of a lot more "tips" than generic guidelines. But I appreciate the effort you made, its a good starter guide for anyone who wants to do PPC. Anyone who wants to make SERIOUS money will need to look for slightly more though.

    I totally agree with your point number 9. Sometimes, too much emphasis is given on click through rate. Granted, it can get you lower cost per click, but there is no point having a 1 cent CPC if you cannot convert a single person with your landing page.

    Good foundation for PPC but the trick to run a successful campaign is digging deep and dirty into each one of those bullets. Finding good keywords is essential, yes, but the tough part is how to go about doing so. Building a good landing page is essential, yes, but again its easier said than done.

    But this provides a good framework for the process, assuming you emphasize the need to test, track, and optimize.

    The part I disagree with is the last few points. Most successful PPCers I know don't hire any sort of management company. PPC campaigns can be very easily stolen so I and most people wouldn't trust anybody outside of myself or my core team to manage a PPC campaign.

    PPC management companies are good for traditional businesses like a fence company who wants to run a PPC campaign. The PPC management company doesn't sell fences so there is no incentive or worries about them stealing your PPC campaign...quite the opposite.

    But for a CPA campaign that can be easily replicated, its a whole different story. If a PPC campaign is doing well, I don't want anybody else knowing about it. That's why I made it a policy a while back not to share ANY campaign I have ever built. They are all like the secret recipes you here about being locked in vaults...you never know when a recipe will become a hit so why share it!
