Hello guys, I know most of you heavy hitters are using PPC so I have a question for you. If you could rank ANY key word phrase you chose to the top 5 in google with in 1 month, would you switch from PPC to seo or not? and why?

I would definitely switch. Assuming I wasn't spending $$$ for the SEO, otherwise it's kind of the same thing.

NOPE to PPC, the whole point with SEO is direct FREE traffic...
You are doing the same with PPC, but now you are paying for it..
Why would you spend money when Google and the other search engine are giving it for free..

What you really want to know about the heavy hitters are, why would you use ppc in the first place? it's because we can instantly send traffic to test the landing page see if it converts to a sale. So we use a tiny amount of money to test landing pages and squeeze pages and see if it works. If it did not work, then we only spent a little bit of money, and have not wasted a ton of TIME building the website to rank in the first place. We don't do the heavy work for days if the landing page don't convert..

We have a choice to tweak the landing page so it does convert, send some more traffic, (spend some money) test it again. Then finally we switch to SEO or get an army of affiliates to send traffic.

But there's even better plan than that, really...
what if we found some keywords that have a lot of searches but no competition..even better. NO PPC, just I little tweaking and wala, FREE TRAFFIC, equals automatic cash..and that what you want right...???

When starting out SEO is the way to go, there are many free ways to drive traffic to a website, all it takes is hard work and time. I only use PPC for affiliate advertising with some success. But to become a real player in the term all you need is to be professional and plenty of dedication.

Most definitely switch to SEO if you can do that. The majority of searches end with clicks on the top ranking sites not the paid ads. So you would most likely get more traffic the SEO method. But it would just be from the keywords that you have top rankings for.

PPC is expensive, risky, and short term.... SEO is free and long-term...

I will start with PPC and gather lots of info see if it's worth doing SEO.
Then start doing SEO at the mean time leave PPC running at lower budget. 10-20/day will do
Once you get SEO done. If you like you can turn off the PPC tap.

Both PPC and SEO are viable methods. Focus on one or the other first if you're promoting affiliate products.

If you own your own site/product then you need to be focusing on a full scale marketing strategy which includes both PPC, SEO and more.

I try to do both, but I got to admin, paid traffic is more exciting as they come quick, in large amounts

that being said, whatever you make from seo is pure profit (well minus the time yous spent on it), so its well worth the effort

Yes, if I probably would if I could use the same sites that I use with PPC.

The problem of SEO is that we have to use obscure long-tail keywords and sites that are more like content sites, and not exactly landing pages like the ones we use with PPC. So if I knew a way to solve these problems, yes, I probably would switch from PPC to SEO. Of course, I'm talking about search, PPC on other platforms and the content network are completely different things.
