I'm just getting into PPV the last couple of weeks and I have an interesting campaign..

The first day I launched, I profited $150.
The next couple days was either $50 below, or $50 profit.
Today was $-100...

Why would it be like this? I have no idea what to expect?

Also, an important question.. Would it be smart to use the same Lander i've been using for PPC and just resize it or should PPV landers be structured way differently?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some days and times just don't work, others do. You need to see which ones do and only run campaigns during those times.

If you've got a PPC Lander that works, I'd use it. It's proven so why not?

did you change your wording or keywords etc?

if not then it may be the site you're promoting on, some ppl say facebook/yahoo are great others say they're not. It can sometimes depend on what youre marketing

check your landing pages, are ctrs consistent or dropping?
what type of offer your running, you could be getting scrubbed.

If you did not change your keywords or url's the truth is you are either being scrubbed
by the network. OR the day sucks to promote that offer, check your day parting tracking

For someone just "getting into CPA", all I have to say is: Holy sh.t! $150 on your first day? You must be a natural or something.

This is a really difficult question to answer, to give a good answer we would need more information - like the niche, offer, how your targeting, landing page or direct linking, etc, etc..

I dont want to give away my niche and landing page but I heard some hype about PPV and I had a landing page converting with PPC so I figured I'd give it a try with PPV and it seemed to work somedays, and somedays not.

The inconsistency just confuses me... Ive been tracking it closely and I've had to pause some urls that werent converting.

Today the traffic dropped big time but it says I was only outbid on 1 of my url. I can't figure out the problem as I am on Directcpv and MediaTraffic.

Payouts are high, so 3-4 sales would be around 50-80 dollars so the few sales are crucial.

Anyway, if you know anything please let me know.

It's the nature of PPV and day parting....

I've had one campaign running for 5 days now and some days it has made up to 700 profit and some days only 300. It's all to do with how much traffic you're getting / other bidders and their frequency caps / conversion rate / time of day etc.

There are quite a few variables involved in PPV and it's just part of the game.

      .
Yes use something to track this (prosper202) then you'll know exactly when your offer is converting and when your losing money (time of day and actual days)

Firstrate - do you do direct linking or squeeze page? also what payout do you promote to make that much profit? also how many urls do you target on avg per campaign?

Thanks for the help everyone - I think if I keep tracking it and keep adding the successful urls and deleting the bad urls I'll be able to keep it high and profitable.

Remember this was my first PPV campaign. I'm lucky as I didn't have to spend so much money to test.

      Rinse and repeat!!

Me personally I always use a landing page because I like to control the pre-sell and work with higher paying offers.... but that's just a matter of preference there are plenty of people killing it with direct linking etc. Find something that works for YOU.

In regards to URLs, I like to target high traffic, high volume URLs because more traffic = more money and I don't mind working on slim ROI margins if there's volume there, so I will generally start with around 10-15 and optimize down. However, if I was doing a very niche campaign with low volume targets (although I don't do too much of this anymore) then I'd start with anywhere up to 500.

Also remember that PPV can burn out fairly quickly unless you are targeting sites with substantial volume because there are only so many eyeballs to see your lander who've downloaded the associated toolbar. You can counter this by scaling your campaigns to other PPV networks or countries

      Hope that helps.

So I'm guessing my campaign burned out after a week? Is this the only possible explanation..

First day I profited 150, after that it kept getting lower and lower and now I just can't get it positive and I've lost around $150 just trying to test things.

I thought I had a goldmine where I could scale.. but I guess not?

If I let this go will I be making a big mistake??

get more urls or get on another ppv network to get more traffic

Great explaination, Appreciated, no wonder my views are so small now.. will try higher traffic sites as targets.

You still done real good for first time out, I went through like $200 in one day on PVA last week, and not a dime. You win some you loose some. By the way what PVA network were you using? Was it Lead Impact?

It's actually MediaTrafic. And not all is lost from it.

I cut down some URL's after testing and now im at a steady income from the campaign.

$20-70 profit in a day. ALL im spending is around $30 a day too so it's not a big loss if something were to go wrong.

I just kept testing, even after 3 days in a row of losses around $30-50.

Just gotta keep whats working and toss away the rest and repeat.

I can still scale this too with other PPV networks and more urls, I'm pretty happy with this one. Especially since it is the first project I've gotten into for PPV.

Oh, and I also noticed anywhere from Midnight to lunch it converts, than I'll pause it from there for the rest of the day. After Lunch it just spends a little money but doesn't convert. Take this into consideration with your campaigns.

If your profitable just keep monitoring it and check the traffic volume for each keyword for the last couple of days it could be a simple thing.

As for landers create it within the constraints of pop up traffic or else you may be throwing money away.

    Good luck

Just a quick question, have any of you guys had any success with PPV Keywords? I've been having success with URL's but never attempted Keywords..

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks.
