200 dollar budget NEED ADVICE

Alright guys,

Earlier I said I was going to spend $20 bucks on a facebook campaign for a dating offer...

BUT My amazing uncle was generous enough to give me $200 dollars to spend on advertising with facebook..

Now since this is not my money... I really need to make this work.. He said it's ok if I lose but seriously, $200 bucks? I can't just take it from him and throw it away...

I would really like to ask anyone who is pro with dating ads on facebook to give me some serious tips and pointers and what not to do...

I NEED to make at least 200 to pay him back.. Plus it will give me a good chance to go into facebook ads seriously and learn something new for future campaigns..

    At first i would like to congrats you for the money. yes its not a very small amount! oyu can get an ipod in 200$
    i think before investing you should visit other dating offers published in Face book. try to contact them and discuss with them about their profit. after getting some idea about other ads related to dating then make your own ad. it should be unique and also attractive to attract other people. use some commonsense to make the ad attractive. i think it will gove you more than 200$

      Like browse mentioned it's all about trial and error but you can cut down the risks. First of all don't be afraid of losing the money but focus on making money.

      That said, what I do when I go in to new marketing ventures I always research over a longer period who is doing the same ad or lead generation system for a long time. long time can be from a week to a few weeks depend on what I research.

      Those who spend money on the same ad or lead gen again and again is a good indicator that it's a profitable one, then you have to see how you can give it your own twist.

      I spend some time on FB to know that some ads are there for a few months to 6 months, I always click them and take a look to see what they do.

      Actually I always do that, every time I see ads or reports or whatever lead gen system that is around for a longer time then usual I check it out and learn.

    Its good that you are using it to learn something rather then just wasting it buying few items. I think its hard to make money unless you do a lot of testing with facebook.

    I've never been successful in the PPC-game, I think a lot of people fail with PPC. It's not as easy as people think, you really need to know what traffic that will convert and also have a great product that you know will sell. If you are not 100% sure, then dont use PPC.

      If you are dead set on doing it, at least tilt the deck in your favor by looking at your competitors ads.....take the categories and interests that you are going to target and give yourself those same "likes"...then see what ads are served up to you to get an idea of your competition.

    I would reconsider your entire strategy, and maybe think about trying something different. A PPC campaign will empty your bank account quicker then anything if you don't know what you're doing, and you shouldn't be trying to learn with other people's money.

    There is another option.

    $200 is more than enough money to build a website, and pay for some really good outsourcing to helped get it ranked high in Google. You can get a lot done here on WF, and on Fiverr for that kind of money.

      Something is definetly wrong...

      I changed some words a little and changed the picture..

      Am I on the right track here?

      does anybody wanna critisize me on my adcopy and tell me what you honestly think?

        In my humble opinion, $200 is not enough to test. You only spent $45?

        How many clicks already? 50-60 clicks?

        Social media PPC is different from normal search engine PPC. The demographics are different. And also, you need to target their 'interests'.

        If you try to hit them with 'buy this' offers, it would not work.

        That is just in my experience.

        I don't know if you have maxbounty or not, but I found this offer here:

        It pays $27 on that first 1 page submit, which is amazing, so if you can lower bids to $0.5 and get 20 clicks per conversion, thats a 200% ROI, but, realistically, shoot for 30-40 clicks per conversion, and try and target the right demographic.

    I don't recommend you to simply throw the money on Facebook. If you want to make money with that platform you need to know exactly what you're doing. You need to know how to choose niches, select offers, create test campaigns, use the right bidding stratey, improve your CTR, optimize your CPC, etc...

    two hundred is honestly a small budget if you are just starting out...You may be better off building some niche sites and slapping adsense on there and doing SEO to get it up in the rankings. with two hundred bucks you can get 15 sites or so maybe outsource some links and within a few weeks start making money.

    But if you do want to make money with dating try plenty of fish. you can target more then with facebook and if your write good ads with a good clickthrew you can pay less. Especially if your ads are highly targeted. I hope you are split testing. and when you are on a tight budget remember to only go three times the payout and if no conversions kill it. meaning if your payout is 3.50 a lead if by 10.5 you arent making any money stop the campaign

      Hey bud, congrats on getting the financial help from your uncle. I will say I like your drive and your energy, if you can keep that it will help.

      That being said, I have to agree that $200 is not a whole lot when it comes to Facebook or PPC in general. Is it possible to spend $200 and get a winning campaign and profit? Sure it is.

      But it isn't easy. You have spent $45 and made $7. So first off, congrats on your conversion. That is a step in the right direction. However, as you know, spending $45 to earn $7 will get you broke fast.

      That is how it works though. You test and test and test, until something clicks. Then you test more. Everyone is different, some will spend more than others before hitting a winning campaign, you never can tell. It's about finding a good offer that converts, then putting up compelling ads and getting your CTR up, CPC down, and CR up.

      It's a lot easier said than done, but anyone can do this. It just takes a lot of hard work and determination, and a willingness to test, test, and test more.

      Facebook/PPC may not be the best place to start with your budget. I made my first money online writing articles and direct linking to CPA offers. I happened to find a good life insurance offer that converted on 2 page submit and paid $15 per conversion.

      Now this method may not be the best, but at the time it's what I did. I made a couple hundred bucks in a few weeks with that. Nothing huge, but it helped give me some more budget, helped me learn how to work with CPA networks, etc., and it gave me confidence. Again, this is not once size fits all, and others have different advice/stories.

      We're all in this to make money (I think), but you can't let the dollar value blind you. If you treat this $200 as PPC budget and view it as all or nothing, you won't be using good judgement. It's not too different from using the rent money to play the stock market. Your emotions will cause you to make poor decisions.

      I'm sorry, I'm rambling, I talk/write way too much. The short of it is, treat this money as the cost of doing business. PPC may not be the best place to start, you could get a site up, write articles, etc. You can also perform services on the WF and such to build your budget. Write articles, build backlinks, etc. Do you have any technical skills that you could charge for, etc?

      PPC is exciting, and it's attractive. I remember when I started, I couldn't wait to spend money on ads and watch the conversions roll in. It didn't work out exactly like that, but ultimately I started figuring things out.
