CPA Success - My Journey and Advice

Hi all, I have been doing affiliate marketing for about a year, and have reached my desired income to live comfortably and replace my previous old job.

I have known warriorforum for pretty long, but never signed up because I was busy with my own projects.

The key to my success is to really study the correct things. I was lucky to have friends who are around me, who are into IM themselves and could mastermind together. They also run successful businesses.

I started off with nothing to invest, just time. Not to lie, but article marketing still works.

I have now moved on from article marketing to paid traffic.

Not that I'm dissing WF, but some of the WSOs here are pretty disappointing. Not only rehashed, but some are really put out terribly together.

And the promise keeps on getting bigger. $50k with no outright investment, selling for $17? Yeah right.

If I can give you 1 advice, it is this: Study the fundamentals.

Don't try loopholes or cheap tricks.

Internet Marketing is just using the Internet as a medium. It might be cheap, accessible to most, but it is just a medium of marketing.

Study copywriting, sales, conversions, traffic.

Always be studying and doing. Only when you do that you will really learn.

P.S. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them.

Faizudin, there is nothing wrong with free methods.

Paid methods are king, because you can easily test out a lot of things.

However, if you cannot be spending a couple of hundred bucks on paid traffic everyday, then don't go into it. It will consume you.

My advice: Start taking action. Set on a plan.

Be strategic, not opportunistic. Don't go jumping around from the first goldmine to the next.

Focus on 1 and do it. I'm sure you will see success.

Curious to know which niche worked for you? Which paid traffic service worked for you?

How Karma differs from the 3rd Law of Motion?
Only difference is the reaction would be very strong and not equal i.e. good gets rewarded with lots of good and bad gets rewarded with lots of bad.....so watch your actions carefully...

        I absolutely agree with this.

If you have time and no money, go with free traffic (there's plenty of money to be made with free strategies). Then, learn the basics, create a plan and stick on it.

It's sounds simple and it is simple. The problem is that most people are too "desperate" and don't have enough patience to stick on something until they master it and start getting results.

It is very true that most people are too desperate. They need to discipline themselves and patience.

            Yes,

Article Marketing is alive and well. Only people who cannot work it bitch about how laborious it is.

And to answer the question above about the niches, hit niches with desperate buyers. Credits, BizOpp, Health, Relationships, Money.

            Everything.

Top CPA and Clickbank offers. CPA is a bit easier to convert though, but both are as lucrative.

At the end of the day, the 'short cut' route of trying to find the system that makes 50k a day is the foundation of a lot of people's incomes.

Like it or not, the real money is in selling people these 'systems'. Some are better than others, but it all comes back to the larger interest of the product creator.

If there was no-one wanted shortcuts, internet marketing products wouldn't exist, and a lot of people would be broke.

I think its good to remember that. You just have to make the choice of whether you want to be one of the sheep that makes these super-affiliates rich, or the falcon or wolf or something that goes his own route.

I'm far from successful, but I like to think I have a good mind set and the motivation to eventually 'get there'.

What I recommend is learning what is selling.

People are doing IM by spamming, blackha*t methods etc. Most people don't even understand selling, let alone marketing.

One important thing to bear into mind:

Work on your job, you gain an income.
Work on yourself, you gain a fortune.

Whatever you do, try to improve yourself.

During my article marketing stint, I was reading and understanding how words make prospects hand out their wallets. Not just 'spinning' articles and just hope more eyeballs end on the articles (that don't convert).

P.S. I'm considering taking one or two highly motivated newbies and guiding them (because I'm learning to be a coach, a consultant for businesses), just through instant messengers. Anyone up for the idea? I'm still worried that I cannot dedicate enough time for whoever I decide to take up. It's probably free, but what I'm looking for are individuals who want to change their lives.

Remember, nothing happens until something moves!

Hi Aidan, wow I am very much inspired by this. I am from the Philippines. Funny that I wrote articles for some US based company before, now working with a CPA network (I believe they are) as a contractor and not as a publisher. I've been approved to 3 CPA Networks and poof! I don't know what to do with it. Hahaha! I know how to work for other business but I don't know how to work for mine. Right now, I'm committed to doing forum marketing and article marketing (1 week on this) and wonder if someone can teach me things. I hope I could be your first "motivated" student!

I need to quit looking at all the e-mail offers I get everyday with the latest greatest new idea, that will make me thousands a day, Ha!. Hi,

When people comment about shortcuts, they usually forgot to finish the sentence. In my opinion as a newbie, not all shortcuts are bad.

                Lets differentiate.

Now if someone says "Shortcuts in Making $50k in a week", it is not totally doubtful but quite questionable.

That kind of achievement may be true for the WSO creator, because he worked his way towards that $50k per week. Then he sells the WSO, AS IF everyone else can do it too ( without the kind of effort the creator took and without the experience that the creator had ). Such WSO could be possible only for some.

                Here's another group of shortcuts.

WSOs with the following titles or similar effects attract me:
                - "Shortcuts in Making Money with Plenty of Fish" or
                - "Learn Media Buy in 1 day" or
                - "FB CPA Promo Manual" or
                - "Google Adsense For Dummies" or
                - "Multiple Traffic Stream Blueprint" or
                - "Make Money With Free Methods".

To me, these kind of WSOs without the $$$ signs are potentially useful and helpful guides to NEWBIES.

They are HOW-TOs for each promotion channels. To me, THESE ARE REAL SHORTCUTS.

They save my time in learning the steps to utilize the channels fully. They REDUCE TRIAL & ERRORS of self-learning (without coaches). They save money, because TIME = MONEY. They reduce the learning curve, hence reduce stress and confusion.

How about WSOs of the third kind?

The problem with WSOs with bombastic and compelling titles are that they are sometimes very dry.

Contents are obviously taken and compiled from free resources on the internet and then made into video slides. Then they are given appealing titles.

To me, the creators of such WSOs are disgustingly opportunistic.

As readers/users of WSOs, we know and we can feel whether the content are actual, real experience or just plagiarized content.

                My suggestion
I hope WF would consider putting a RATING SYSTEM for each WSO. It may be very helpful for a lot of people in making buying decisions.

                  Azmanar,

I have to say, quite a bit of WSOs are just created for money. It really disgusts me.

They are filled with long videos and little valuable content. Because if you just sell a pdf, it probably cannot command a high price.

If I ever release a product, it will be in text. Short and sweet to the point.

That is why I prefer reading the Google Adwords Official Help on Google's site rather than reading some 'Underground Adwords Secrets WSO'.

                  Test, test, test.

Don't burn your money buying training guides. You can only learn my doing.

                  My two cents.

P.S. If you are talking about traffic sources shortcuts, I can tell you there are no shortcuts. Just test various traffic sources.

The way to ensure success in this industry is to start thinking of it like a business, too many people want a quick fix and look at loopholes and sneaky tricks, yes these may supply a small injection of cash but generally cannot be sustained and once they trickle out you are right back where you started.

The thing about making money online is that it is RELATIVELY easy, not always ABSOLUTELY easy. Relative to other means of earning 6 figures...work your way up an organization (will likely take years), get a good degree (will take years and lots of money), making six figures online is easy.

But, that doesn't mean it just happens. It still requires lots of work, lots of learning, and lots of tenacity.

A lot of people when they first start out want the result without putting in the reward. Maybe they believe the hype of many sales letters or maybe they are lazy or maybe they are just unlucky. They therefore try and find shortcuts to get to that $1000 per day by next week even though they haven't made a penny yet.

Start by getting $10 a day. Set that as your first goal. You don't need shortcuts to get to this point. Once you are making $10, now try and find shortcuts to replicate, duplicate, and/or scale.

By shortcuts, I primarily mean buying software. Products also fall into this category, so long as the product was purchased to be a shortcut instead of an education as the focus. Also, outsourcing too quickly is a shortcut that many newbies take. They have never done article marketing before and outsource the whole process their first go around. DO the work FIRST, then outsource once you have a system that works.

Article marketing is very laborious. I have never done a great deal of it myself as a pure strategy (unlike part of an SEO plan), but the only way I have ever heard of people doing substantial numbers is by outsourcing.

                Yes.

And what I did was outsource. IF you don't have the money, you could start writing some yourself.

But if you got a couple of hundred bucks lying around, it will probably accelerate the process.

But articles are just part of the equation. The mentality behind the keywords and the presell copy are important as well.

Thats a great tip. Don't look for shortcuts when you are new...the only way is to work hard. Short cuts come ONCE YOU ARE ALREADY making money. That's when you buy software to expedite processes and duplicate results.

Too many people look for the easy way out.

    Nice work!

Thanks for sharing this Aiden and thanks to all for the great posts. Sorry for being such a noob, but being quite new to this (affiliate and CPA) biz model, I think I can be excused by using my "learning in progress" card?

People always tell us to "learn the basics", "know the fundamentals" or "learn marketing". After going through a lot of threads on CPA tips, advice and even WSOs, I am still confused and can't figure out what these "basics" or "fundamental" knowledges are. It's easy for newbies to get sidetracked into learning everything that others are mentioning. Everyone knows that information related to the IM biz can be overwhelming since it contains quite a broad range of categories. You can't possibly master all the tools and strategies available out there. Just to name a few: PPV,PPC,SEO, video marketing, article marketing, building email lists from cpa offers, you name it and I've most probably have read the basic building blocks of the methods. Just enough to know what they are all about.

If there really is a blueprint or step by step guide on what are the "essential" knowledge that anyone new to IM or CPA biz must master first even before thinking of applying to any cpa networks, could anyone care to lay it out here? I know that there aren't any exact right or wrong methods of doing IM. What I'm actually asking is for example, you could dive straight into PPC,article marketing,SEO and blogging but you still need to master the method of keyword researching first. So that means keyword research has the highest priority amongst the methods that were mentioned. I hope I'm right?

I think this is the most confusing part for newbies like me to start. It's not that I'm not willing to learn, the problem is where to start and whats the next thing to tackle. I really am willing to learn and I don't mind taking the long path. I just hope that I can get some guides along the way and I know that this is what this forum is all about. Thanks for reading my post.
