What is A Content Gateway

As used below, what type of site is a content gateway?

Neverblue will not accept or pay for any traffic from content gateways or content locking websites.

Thanks
Mike

Hey Michael, here is a great article explaining what is and how it works for content gateway/locking.

    Content Locking Explained

Also, here are some well known content gateway networks: BLAMAds.com, LeadBolt, cpalead, adscendmedia....

    Hope that helps.

Hey Mike, A "Content Unlocker" is basically some javascript code that is placed into the html document of the page which forces someone to take a CPA offer in order to get to the content that is behind the locker. So you are offering someone an incentive, in order for them to get that end product, they are required to take a survey. Then, once the survey is completed the page is visible and the user continues to the end product. I believe Neverblue doesn't allow their affiliates to incentivize their offers. But thats basically how a content unlocker works in a nutshell

Great sharing! Just wonder if your network has content gateway feature. Thanks.

Unfortunately we do not but we were thinking of implementing some sort of a gateway feature in the near future

The simplest way to explain content locking is exactly how it sounds. We have a webpage with content and using software we lock it. This lock creates a semi-transparent frame over the page that allows the visitor to see the content, but not read or interact with it. They are presented with a gateway that asks them to choose from one or more free CPA offers to complete to get access to the content. Here are the three steps to Content Locking:

    1. Offer cool FREE content.
    2. Lock it, using Content Locking Software.
    3. Cash in with CPA offers that the visitor don't need a credit card or any other payment to complete.

  • I think (I could be wrong) the CPA networks consider that intensive. If that is the case look for that type of offers, I don't do them but I have seen them listed. The other thing is talk to your rep, just flat out tell him what you want to do and if it's ok and he/she will tell you. In order for this to work you need to keep in mind the end guy who is paying the bill if he is not converting your leads and making money none of this works! So for this to work in the long run, no need to hide what you are doing or trick or anything talk to the network and see if it's ok, they need to protect the client who pays the bills.

    Good luck 2 u.
