Is PPC-Coach.com still relevant?

The site looks like it's full of great and useful content, but it also doesn't look like the videos have been updated in a while. I know this industry changes quickly and would appreciate your opinion on the matter. Thanks.

One of my fellow Canadian Marketers put it better then I could, so I'll link to his blog post about this topic for everyone:

The “Shaving Conspiracy” – and Why This is the Single Biggest Reason Most Affiliates are Going to Fail…

People are sold the newest shiny object daily in their inboxes. They think, (falsely), that in order to succeed online, they must have something new/unknown/undiscovered/secret/trick to do so. The truth is the opposite. Old boring stuff works and always will. If you are a long term marketer with a long term focus, then you'll be a happier marketer too. Also odds are you will succeed versus the person on the never ending search for the magic pill.

Things do change, Adwords has gone insane on us over the past several years but other new traffic sources pop up that can be used successfully. My site is almost 3.5 years old now and I don't take videos that contain solid information down. There is still a lot of value to be had by watching them. I still do new videos and with the addition of our facebook ads tool, we're still very relevant today.

I signed up for the 14 day trial of PPC-Coach. Do I have access to the Social Ads Tool during this trial period?

Don't bother with it is my opinion. The owner owned a network called Wotopega that pretty much crashed and burned. All the methods are old and worked in 2008. The owner is pretty smart at running a forum, I'll give him that.

Read that Shaving Conspiracy article very carefully, and you'll understand the answer to your concern, and much more. That article is brilliant.

Some methods become outdated no matter where you find them. However, there are many methods which don't become outdated. On a very basic level, the method so often used to promote the idea that you need new methods to keep up, and sell them to you, is itself an old reliable method that won't become obsolete any time soon.

Regarding the usefulness of ppc-coach, here's one big thing: If you're going to do PPC, you're probably going to be using facebook's ppc ads at some point. If you're going to do facebook ppc to make money, then it seems to me you will certainly be able to glean a major benefit from the facebook advertising tool members get access to. For people who leverage it, it alone is worth joining.

As a member, I have learned a great deal about ppc and marketing in general through the site. The methods are solid and based on sound marketing principles.

Sure, there are some changes in the technical aspects of some of the methods since the last time they were published, but these are continually updated in the forum discussions.

I was thinking about joining PPC Coach, but then I found out about PPV Playbook, which looks a lot more current in its material. However, the Facebook tool in PPC Coach may just sway me.

Has anyone got any feedback on the FB tool and how it works?

        Thanks,

Yes, I use it daily. I've been a member there for 6 months now. The monthly unlocked forums and methods are great, but the real meat is simply in the community. You have a lot of successful people there willing to share information and interact as a community. That is the first reason I've kept my membership. The Social Ads Tool is the second. I don't always throw up 100 ads at a time. In fact, more often than not I put up 20 or so and test. The tool will optimize for you, pause ads that aren't meeting CTR, CR, or CPA that you want. It also does automatic dayparting on campaigns which alone has put me in the black.

The very last reason is simple, I've learned a ton, and I enjoy being part it. The stuff I've learned there has allowed me to continue to grow more profitable. I focus mostly on Facebook right now, and there is a lot of good info on there, in addition to the SAT, which for me is invaluable. Just my experience FWIW. Ultimately you should base your decision on what you are looking for and what is comfortable. Don't join a paid forum if you can't afford it.

I personally started with a $1 trial for 2 weeks, but I'm still there

            Hey Sith,

Thanks for the feedback. You may have just swayed me into giving PPC-Coach a try. I think the social ads tool could be really useful.

            Might see you inside soon!

PPC-Coach.com is worth joining for the methods alone. I hear many people criticize training there or elsewhere only to find out they have not tried the methods. Is it important that a technique wasn't invented yesterday if it still works and makes money?

PPC-Coach.com is worth joining for the community alone. One thing you'll rarely see tolerated in the forums at PPC-Coach is BS information. Sure you'll see the occasional rant, but the members there are all well-intentioned and if misleading or false information is posted you'll see it corrected, quick. I'm sure that will be a refreshing change for some people on its own!

PPC-Coach.com is worth joining for the connections alone. I would not be where I am today without contacts I made through that site. If I need help or advice and have to choose between an unknown and a PPC-Coach alumnus, there is no choice.

Allow me to chime in. Now as you can see...I NEVER post. I come to WF for advice and reviews. You can usually tell the good from the bad, not simply by HOW MANY posts they have, but by the value they contains. There's no doubt that many on this forum are "opportunity chasers" and simply go from thread to thread bashing, or more accurately "nay saying" every product. These people have not only NOT purchased the product, thus have no business even giving advice, but it's clear they do not even make their living this way. Again, "opportunity chasers".
It is also usually VERY obvious which product owners are here to back up their product with intelligent, KNOWLEDGEABLE responses...and which APPEAR to be "gurus", or should I say TRY to be, but are simply guys who bought PLR to some rehashed crap, repackaged it, and has now simply hung is shingle-ready to sell.
These are the guys we've all seen arguing with people and beating around the bush, never really answering any questions, but you can be sure that "BUY MY STUFF" always pours out as their eventual be all-end all solution.
Enter my experience with Will (owner (I believe) of PPC-Coach). I emailed him last night, with a question and some advice about NOT JOINING HIS SITE! You read that right...NOT joining.
One thing that I've read about PPC-Coach in numerous threads is the support. Heck, read about it in THIS one. But allow me to bump that up a notch...
I watched a webinar that Will did a while back, and if I'm not mistaken, he covers some free traffic methods in his membership, in case you do not really have the budget for PPC. He doesn't cover it extensively, as this is not his focus, but he makes that clear...no misleading here.
He's also straightforward in saying (actually addressing a webinar attendee's question) that if you want to really be successful in PPC, you should get a firm grasp on (at least) simple web page building. But again, he doesn't teach it...no misleading here.
Fast forward again to my e-mail. I am looking at two programs, one to teach me the PPC side, and one to teach me the "free" side, which of course, also covers basic web page/landing site creation.
I sent a support ticket asking Will's honest opinion on which I should focus on first. I've been around long enough to know of "information overload" and I try to avoid it. BUT...I've also been around long enough to know that if he gave me a straight forward plan that included both simultaneously (as they SHOULD work in harmony. I could drive free AND paid traffic to my landing sites), I felt confident I could do it.
His response...DO NOT JOIN MY SITE FIRST!!! He advised me to do the free thing first, especially if I don't have the budget to start PPC. He actually evaluated the path I have in mind, as I laid it out for him. He told me he thought it was a solid plan, and "not to worry...my site will still be here when you're ready".
Let me also say that this response came 12min after I submitted it!! If you don't AT LEAST see what that says...well I'm not sure you should keep reading.
I also submitted a "thank you for your advice" e-mail a little later on, as he was very helpful. I wasn't expecting a response, and none came...until this morning. He actually took the time to send AN APOLOGY for making me wait til the morning for a reply (he was up late and went to sleep), as he hates it when you e-mail someone and don't get one. I wasn't even looking for one from the second e-mail, but in hind-sight, there was actually another question there.
Folks...I have NOT been inside his membership, nor do I need to in order to make up my mind. This man has integrity. He is genuine. And he obviously has a passion for what he does, and good intentions for anyone who wants to.
I do not have big fancy commissions to show you from PPC-Coach, but I believe I have better proof that what you get inside will be worth it, and if YOU do NOT find success...I think we all know who's fault it will be

Some marketers seem to love to promote things like "the lastest magical software", "new incredible loophole", "new traffic source that no one is using", etc... But the fact is that 99% of that stuff is BS. The main principles and systems to make money still remain the same.

I'm not saying that this industry is static and that my business never changes, but what I'm trying to say is that the new softwares, platforms, etc can make things easier and help us improve our revenue, but they are definetely not able to turn newbies into full-time internet marketers. What makes a newbie becomes a real, professional marketer are the same principles and concepts of years ago.

So, IMO, PPC-Coach is a very solid program, a very good start for people looking to get something going with PPC and learn gradually, without spending too much money.
