you create a campaign , put time and effort , make similar ads to ads that are already running on facebook promoting the same service just to get disapproved for some obscure" we reserve the right to disapprove any ads just because we can" reason. and for god sake I was even promoting a facebook app install!
I had instances when 2 similar ads just different demographics, one got approved and the other one didn't I don't who those clowns are in their ad support team but I don't think they know what they're doing!

Sorry, had to blow out some steam

Make sure to follow their guidelines, if you have the word Facebook in your ad, auto deny. Otherwise you probably ran into one of those monkeys that disapprove everything.

It was a facebook app install for a dating offer, and I don't remember seeing that in their guidelines, mmm
I actually started promoting it after reading about promoting facebook app install on facebook
I'll have to check about that specific issue, but regardless facebook is a great platform to advertise but they make it so hard to get approved sometimes

reply to one of their emails, it might just be the specific offer and not your ad. This happened to me earlier this week. I kept getting disapproved, I replied to the email from disapproval notice and they actual let me know it was the offer not the ad.

Don't ask me why but using a coupon seems to be one of the quickest ways to get banned. Guess they've got a lot of fraud on coupons - so don't know why the hell they still issue them.

To the OP - yeah, it's really, really frustrating. You have to follow their TOS to the T. Forget one little thing and forget about getting your ad through. And some of their monkeys just have their finger permanently on the deny button, no matter what you do. Feel free to drop me a line if you want more specifics on things I've found to help get your FB ads through.

      Cheers

Tnx man appreciate it, I'll restart today, but I think I'll try this campaign on myspace ads too see how it goes

There is a workaround that might work - instead of linking to the offer directly, in the ad copy link to your Facebook Page, a custom tab.
That tab would say, 'Like' us to get a special offer. When the person 'Likes', he gets to an image preview of the offer site. When he clicks on that image, he goes to the offer LP in a new window.

My direct link to the offer was disapproved recently, but a setup like this was approved!

p.s. Be careful, sometimes even though this could get approved, when the user clicks on the LP link, Facebook gives an 'error - page is untrusted' page. So you might end up paying for clicks who view the 'error' page.

Welcome to the world of facebook ppc where you submit a ad and it gets disapproved but you resubmit 10 minutes later and boom its approved.

I created a campaign and after several attempts I got it approved and ran it for 5 days. Then I changed the age group from 18+ to 25+, still using the exact same ad and landing page (fan page). I haven't been able to get it approved since.

I just don't what they want.

    2 possibilities:

    1. You're doing something wrong, check their guidelines and contact their support

    2. There is something wrong with your account, you may have done something that they've not liked and now you will need to contact them to try to get everything working normally again

I'm currently getting 95% of my ads approved promoting offers in more than one niche. So, IMO, getting ads approved isn't very tough once you understand how they work.

About they being inconsistent an approving an ad after several attempts and then rejecting that same ad again when you make some change, what happens is that, eventually, one of their reviewers may commit a mistake and approve an ad that should be rejected. So your ad hasn't been rejected mistakenly, it's been approved mistakenly!

In the beginning it was a bit tough for me, but read their guidelines, contact their support and pay attention to the reasons for disapproval. If you do it you will learn how the approval process works in your niche and it will become a very easy task to get new ads running.

stay away from FB ads.. they won't approve anything, you're right.. if anythign, just start a fan page and build a list on there. I have seen people make bank like that, and it's free... but again,, FB PPC sucks!

Pretty typical for facebook. As others have mentioned make sure you are following their guidelines. If you are, just try resubmitting. Sometimes, you will run into those reviewers who just want to disapprove your ad for no reason. If that doesn't work email them. As far as the time it takes to create the ads, getting the ads rejected would probably sting a lot less if you used some sort of automated tool such as fb ad manager.

In addition, do not use a new facebook account to advertise. Instead, use your normal facebook account, in as much as you are not using a coupon, and virtual credit cards.

people should also consider that there are different people reviewing the ads, hence the inconsistency... this is a problem with large companies....

and i agree, it's better to plan your ads carefully than having have to modify later on...

at the very least, make sure to understand the terms to avoid wasting time submitting ads that are most likely to be rejected....

Is the ad within the FB TOS? If so, why not contact and ask about it?

Setting up with proper self-hosted tracking such as Prosper202 will make approvals a lot smoother. It also gives you an easy way to deal with geotargeted foreign offers, which the approvals team is not equipped to see, as Ustav mentioned.

With FB it depends which student you get to approve your ad. If you are within TOS and you get rejected keep trying. Believe me you are not alone - I don't know anyone who gets 100% approval. If it takes 10 submissions to get approved and your ad turns out profitable, it'll have been worth the effort. Good luck!

Ok get this! I submitted a campaign to facebook targeting Australia and I get disapproved for all my ads, I ask why and I was told that the page did not match the offer. I explain to the facebook customer service guy that since the "real" page will only pop up in Australia since this is an austrlian offer and he needs to use a proxy server to view it, this is the response I get:
" am sorry, but we do not show that to be the case."
Do they teach the basics before they hire them at facebook?
    Idiots!

For me Facebook is the worse media for advertising. I'm very often disappointed with their service and my offers convert poorly on Facebook. Most users go on Facebook to chat and not to opt-in or buy anyway...

Hey its great got an ad campaign approved on Facebook to Facebook page on both CPM and CPC the impressions were great, the conversions not so good. Overtime though the effects began to improve, not enough for me to continue an ROI, would be interesting to stick it out and see. The Facebook services are good to contact, contacting them however is terrible. If you know what your doing, keep doing that, watch your budget, any problems simply pause your campaigns. Hope this helps.

Just stay persistent with them. They are definitely extremely inconsistent with their approvals, but they are still a great platform just because you can't get any greater reach to the traffic you need.

In reference to what Williamrs said, it's important to know that your account gathers a kind of "rating" based on how many approved and disapproved ads you have. That's why you need to be very careful in the beginning, unless you will ruin your Facebook Advertiser "reputation". If you've had a lot of ads disapproved in the past, the approval team sees this, and sometimes just responds to that alone by denying you.

Also, re-read their terms again and again and again. I know it sounds monotonous but every little detail counts. You need to make sure you understand it completely, or else you will be wasting precious time on ad approvals.

Good luck, and don't let them get you too aggravated.

    Matthew
