Getting into IM/CPA [17 Years Old][Journal/Inspiration]

It has come to my attention that this type of post is frowned upon here because the people that do them generally leave them after a couple weeks. I can assure you that I will not be one of those people, and I am very dedicated to the task at hand. But, to keep staff happy I decided to just create a blog (which you can find by clicking my signature). Thanks!

Hello WarriorForum! My name is Stan and I am 17 years old. Please let me know if this type of post is not allowed to be posted here and I will take it down, but I didn't see another spot for something like it.

Basically, I've been browsing WF and reading eBooks for 3-4 months now, and I must say that CPA has intrigued me more than any other form of Internet Marketing. Every day for these past few months I have found myself thinking about how amazing it would be to be rich (in a teenager's mind, I suppose $100/day is very 'rich') before entering college. I kept looking for a miracle; that one easy method to gain $1000/day that just didn't exist.. About a month ago I told myself that it was time to take action. I wrote down ideas that I had and decided that I would finally act on them. I did, but only for a few days and then I dropped it. Well, now it's time to REALLY take action. Enough kidding around. It's time to buckle down and get what I really want.

I'm creating this as a journal not only for those young internet marketers to get some inspiration, but for myself as well. I feel that having something like this will make me dedicated to sticking with all of this. I will be updating this post daily telling you all everything that I've done for that day and how I expect it to make me money, etc.. My goal is to never come back and have to tell you guys "Meh, I was tired today so I didn't really do anything, I'll pick it up later..". I've seen how supportive you Warriors can be to newbies and I look forward to getting inspiration from around the forums while I keep all of you updated with my progress.

So, enough talk..

Starting Point
March 21, 2011: $0 made. $0 to spend on methods. Going from scratch, wish me luck..

Current Goal
To have a steady income of $5/day by April 1, 2011.

Long-term Goal
I would like to keep updating this log and being dedicated to this project until I have reached a steady income of $150/day.

Every day I will try to tell you guys what productive things I've done. Thanks for reading! Oh, and if this is considered spam or is for some reason against the rules then please let me know. I figured it could be good inspiration for newbies like myself, especially in the future when we will all be able to look back at this post. One day, I want to be able to earn enough from internet marketing to be able to raise a family without having the stress of a 9 to 5.

I wish you the best of luck with your journey!

And don't forget of these important things:

    * Keep focused - choose one or 2 methods to master and stick with them until you start getting results. Don't jump to a new system everyday or you will never crack the code of a specific method.

    * Keep organized - use a spreadsheet or something similar to organize your projects and daily tasks. It's important that you know exactly what and when you're supposed to do. If you start just doing random tasks you will end up spending a lot of time and getting almost no results.

    * Don't expect instant results - It applies for everybody who is getting started, but specially for people who intend to use free traffic. Your initial goal is modest, which is good, but you intend to reach it in less than 10 days, so don't get frustrated if it takes a bit long for you to start getting the expected results.

    * Learn in the practice - All the information on this forum can be very useful, but if you don't take action and learn how things work in the practice it won't make you rich. The experience is the best teacher!

Thanks for the great reply, william.

    - I intend to start out with YouTube/video advertising as I find it easy to create many videos every day and have gotten pretty good results with ranking well in YouTube's search pages. I plan to stick to this method for the first couple of weeks and, if it does well, maybe even pursue it for the next couple months. Along with this, I plan on trying to visit local small businesses and tell them about what I'm doing and maybe form some partnerships. This could be a challenge, since being a 17-year-old might be a negative factor for some potential business opportunities, but I know how to act professional and hope to land some small partners this way.

    - This thread is going to be mainly for organization of goals and a log to post my progress to keep making myself push harder and harder every day. As far as organization of specific campaign ideas and such, I am using Google Docs to store ideas that pop through my head so that I can think about them more in-depth at a time where I'm not busy.

    - I think $5/day within 10 days is manageable with constant work. I have made tons of YouTube videos in the past and know how to really play around with the keywords to maximize results on the search pages. Although these abilities should play to my advantage, I expect the earnings to mostly come from the massive amount of videos that I plan on uploading every day. After reading countless posts by Kenster, this idea is pretty much drilled into my brain now!

    - I feel like I definitely know enough to get my hands dirty in Internet Marketing. For the past few months I've been reading up on articles/ebooks/guides and such things..Now I have decided that it truly is time to take action NOW and learn from my mistakes as I go along.

    Thanks again!

  • Good luck, I know you can make it!

I started IM when I was 17 and it took me awhile to learn everything and get into the swing of things but once you're set up you should do just fine!

Stick to one method and keep at it until you make some money - the best way to learn from your mistakes is to take focused action.

    Best of luck

    End of March 21, 2011

First day of work could've been better, and it's not that I had a lack of motivation but rather a lack of time. School and relationships come first for me and unfortunately I had a lot on my plate tonight! I did get started on some things, though!

I uploaded 5 videos to YouTube and already they are on #2/#3/#4 spots of their specific niches (all very hot niches!). Can't wait for them to start getting views! I think I found a really good niche to work with for one of my campaigns and hope to keep creating videos for it day after day and eventually have a steady income. I have decided that I will begin my CPA/IM efforts with YouTube marketing! Wish me luck for tomorrow!

    -Stan

Hate to put a damper on things but this type of post is not allowed on the forum. I'd hate to see you put a lot of work into it and then a mod happens along and deletes it.

What they say is create a Warrior Blog (but I think you need to be a War Room member - not positive) or create your own blog somewhere and the link to it in your signature. If you can't do the Warrior Blog and don't have a domain, get yourself a free Blogger account. Then just link to it in your signature.

Great idea. And good luck with your ventures - you're off to a good start with taking action. Writing it up is good for you, too, as it will help keep you focused.

One recommendation, start doing a post once per week or so with what you have planned to do for the week. Then post your daily updates. Once it's out there in writing that you plan on doing something, it can often be the push we need to get it done as you don't want to have to go in and update saying you didn't do what you were supposed to do.

Yep, they look down on threads like this because they more often then not go nowhere. People update for a week or two and then disappear so there never becomes any real meat to the thread.

Of course if it was followed through it could be one of the most valuable threads and ways of learning there is...case study style is awesome.

A good old blog would do the trick though.

Wishing you much luck on your journey!

    stanky,
First i must congrats on making your self accountable (and publicly to!). A couple of suggestions that might help

    1) try and make a process you can follow in what you are doing, that way down the track when it starts working, you can easily hire others to help you do the work. This will allow you to "scale" up.

    2) think long term - if you do number one, and have results, you can package it up and sell it off as a course or ebook etc.

    3) Track Results as much as possible, if you do - say you know this type of video to this type of offer is worth 50c a visitor, you'll be able to work out which video/offer combinations offer the best time spent/income, and you'll be able to work on them more (ie increase your income without increasing your hours).

    4) Stick to it, even the results you are getting are less then planned, if it is working to some degree, you can improve. To many people fail because they give up after a few weeks, real results come from long time investments.
