CJ Questions

When it comes to commission junction whats the best way to handle sites in different niches?
Is it to set up a different CJ account for each niche?

The thing is when I apply to an advertiser I only want them to see the websites that relate to the niche they are in, not my full list of websites. As otherwise I think I'm running a bigger chance of rejection.

The next question is, is CJ ok with placing ads on sites that I own that I haven't added to my CJ account?

    You should not be worried about the other sites you have

    I have never had a problem with being rejected and I have about 8 websites registered with CJ

    Also, I wouldn't think CJ would contact you for using links on other websites that you own, but to be safe I would just register those also.

      Really? I've been rejected more than I've been accepted (perfectly good site, lots of content, minimal advertising). So I've assumed adding unrelated sites will only make things worse.

    As long as you state what website your using they cannot reject you because you own other websites.

    If your curious about why they reject you try shooting them an email or calling for a more detailed response

      Thanks imback. I can't discover how I state what website I'm using when I apply though. The only thing I can see that might be it is selecting the appropriate website in Account-> Website settings before applying.
      Can't see any website listed in my pending application.

      Possibly heading into territory best dealt with by the CJ helpdesk now.

        While I'm here does anybody know of a good free guide to CJ, specifically on how to get accepted by advertisers?

        Like, I said I have not had this problem so it is hard to offer personal experience.

        CJ's helpdesk is a great tool to get started with

          It seems there are several possibilities for rejection from CJ advertisers
          • Not enough traffic to your site
          • Not yet a strong CJ performer
          • Site not targeted to niche
          • Some advertisers auto decline every application and want a personalized email application instead
          • A lot of the bigger advertisers only want to deal with big sites
          It seems if you reapply after being rejected with a well argued case you stand an excellent chance of being accepted.

          So imback you were right to recommend contacting and you've done very well not to get rejected!
