Creating a redirect, for a CJ merchant?

7 replies
Hi,

I would like to create redirects for all my CPA and affiliate links. This is so that I will be able to protect them, and track the clicks independently.

Does CJ allow this?
If yes, which is the best type of redirect to use?

Thanks,
Zoheb

    CJ does not allow for this type of functionality, you should track your links using 202 or Bevo or CPV Labs and this will allow for you to mask your redirect links, and track the clicks independently. CJ will allow you to pass a single source or tracking variable and encrypt your links but you really need some independent tracking.

    Dont use redirects, CJ doesnt like em.

    May I try recommend lead gen via host and post? This will eliminate your need to redirect anything as you can use your custom sites directly on Adwords.

    Thanks guys..

    Ok here is what I am planning to do as of now. Please let me know if this will be acceptable with CJ and other affiliate networks and programs as well.

    I will be using the following HTML redirect. The optional page text will also inform the visitor that they are being redirected. Also, I will be tracking the hits to this page using Google Analytics.

    Here is where I plan to promote the affiliate products: http://www.thinkfloat.com/tools

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Your Page Title</title>
    <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.the-domain-you-want-to-redirect-to.com"></HEAD>
    <BODY>
    Optional page text here.
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    1. Will the redirecting and tracking work fine?
    2. Can people still steal commissions? Does this protect my link?
    3. Will the affiliate networks accept this method?

    P.S. I am looking into the sites you recommended as well. Just need a little time to go through it...

    I also have the same question as Zoheb if the redirect in this format will track. The text links of cj have an img line as well . Is that necessary to set the cookie or will it set fine just using the link that he has or a redirect through one's domain registrar?

    If you're using T202 or P202 you can just enable the cloacking feature and then your links will be protected.

    If you want to use the meta refresh tag, you can use subIDs to track the campaign, but you will need a piece of PHP code to do it.

    CJ will not allow this, so my suggestion is that don't do that so.
