99% Approval Rate for Netflix - Follow These Steps!

Hey Guys,

First of all I would just like to say these steps work to perfection. I myself and at least 7 others I know personally followed these exact steps and were approved.

Netflix is easily the most profitable offer for offline marketing. I had a tough time getting approved my first go around, but with this method I have been running a successful campaign for a 5 weeks now.

STEP 1 - Open a FREE Blogger Blog (Brand new email, brand new account)
STEP 2 - Create 3 Unique Posts
STEP 3 - Apply through your blog to Adsense
STEP 4 - Once approved for Adsense, go to Netflix.com
STEP 5 - Scroll to the bottom of Netflix.com and click 'Affiliates'
STEP 6 - Click 'APPLY'
STEP 7 - Click 'I Have An Adsense Account'
STEP 8 - Fill In The Information (adsense ID and email)
STEP 9 - Continue with Google Affiliate Network application process
STEP 10 - Once Approved, Find Netflix and Roku under 'Advertisers' Inside Of GAN
STEP 11 - Apply For Both
STEP 12 - Wait 3 to 4 Days
STEP 13 - You're Approved!

Make your blog about movies or something. and make sure you take down the adsense of your blog before you apply for netflix.

    Offline....

I learned this technique from K Cannon.

I'm strictly promoting leveraging local pizza shops.

Providing the fliers to the shops and splitting the commission on every conversion.

    Win/Win/Win

Customers happy....Pizza place is happy.... You are happy

I outsourced the sales part as well. Hope this helps.

      Keith,

I have done mucho dinero with netflix!

To be perfectly frank, I have been pushign the offer for a time with success but its much more difficult now from the merchant guidelines perspective. It does convert but it's tougher.

Things were selling like hotcakes at $25 a pop Street Payout just a few years ago. Chi Ching!

I did your same exact method years ago. Or maybe you learned it from one of my guides!

        Ken,

Great to hear of your success. Congrats. It's converting very well still for me at this point.

Sorry, but I have never read one of your guides, but it sounds like it is full of great information.

        Cheers

It's too bad the offer pays only $12 now.

I think the cost to print makes this a lot harder to get profitable now that the pay-out is so low. $25 would be GOLD!

I know. I was speaking of other CPA offers that allow offline traffic through your network. It seems like you approve of offline traffic, so I figured you may have advertisers that approve it as well. I'm aware that GAN is the only one offering Netflix.

                Thanks

                  Jeffery,

We allow any offer to be ran offline as long as the sign up process is online. Honestly, I'm not real sure how any network could stop you from promoting an online offer using offline tactics.

Thanks Keith. I don't know either, but I've heard if they see too many leads coming from 1 IP ( as in the kiosk method ) or from 1 centralized area, they will start scrubbing. I've been let known by a couple affiliate managers that offline is not acceptable. Maybe I'll try your network?

Yep, back when Blockbuster was running their CPA campaign hard, there was a small battle between them and Netflix where each drove up the lead commission to try and gain market share. Then blockbuster crashed and burned leaving Netflix able to drop their lead price substantially. Unfortunate for us all!

I never understood it. I've gotten in arguments with so many AMs where my offline leads converted just fine but because they were offline derived, the network had questioned the leads. Normally after some talking they ultimately accepted the leads, but it's just one of those things that are so tainted that networks develop umbrella policies that don't necessarily make sense but don't even want to worry about it.

If everybody did offline the right and honest way it wouldn't be a problem. Same with classified sites

Yep, like the above comment, if the leads convert on the merchants end, who gives a crap if 1,000,000 leads came form the same IP. I don't get it. At the end of the day, the problem is that too many leads from similar IPs suggests their may be something scammy going on, but the solution should be just extending the payout period to make sure the leads check out. This way the network benefits and you benefit.

The other problem is that offline campaigns don't leave any footprints so its impossible for the network to see how you are promoting. This worries them because they can't see if you are incentivizing in any way or doing anything else that's funky.

Anywho, it is what it is. Best bet is to just work with an AM that is more offline friendly

Just find an Affiliate manager that will hear you out. Try and help you where he can and flat out help you make money. If an AM is not willing to do these things then go somewhere else.

Thanks for the great tips. Should the blogspot site I use for the Adsense application also be used for the GAN application? Does GAN require a more professional looking site than blogspot?

I followed this process and used the same blogger blog I used for adsense and it worked just fine. The blog was about movies. I only created three posts and removed the adsense displays from the blog. Got approved for Netflix within 3 days. Just follow those steps exactly and you should be fine.

I have a Home Theater site that gets good traffic and I used it to apply for Netflix. I got declined because they said it was not a good fit. I guess you can say it was related but not exactly about movies. Do you advise making the site strictly about movies to get accepted?

Thats completely based on the amount of clients you land and how much volume they push. Get with them and come up with an educated estimate. Test and then optimize.

            Hey guys,

You don't need to use a Blogger blog either, if you don't want to. To look even more professional you can use a WP blog on your own domain using ( yes you guessed it! ) the WordPress default theme. It makes a pretty decent looking blog. It's almost too bad I can't promote this offer anymore.

I threw this together really quickly.

    Keith,

I'm confused. Could you explain steps 9 and 10?

What is the Google Affiliate Network? Is this something above and beyond applying for an AdSense account?

    What is GAN?

Why do you need to find Roku? Can't you promote just NetFlix?

    Thanks,

Google Affiliate Network is just that. It is Google's affiliate network.

Excellent, but the catch is that I already have an Adsense account so cannot create another. Any suggestions for people with existing Adsense accounts?

Also, the 3 posts - can they be on any topic or do they need to be on say movies?

Fred, create another account. Or test the exact steps using your adsense. I believe it is best to create a fresh account if you can. (think outside the box)

Yes, make the posts about movies and I would consider naming your blog something like awesomemoviereviews etc etc...

I was under the impression that once you had an Adsense account, you didn't have to get another one to apply for ANY of the programs within. I thought that's what they WANT you to do, instead of opening several different accounts, but then I might be wrong.

While adsense discourages multiple accounts by the same owner I was advised by an adsense rep to sign up with new DBA's so that I could have multiple accounts. Each DBA has the same address, just a different business name. In the state of Texas a DBA is free so it was no problem for me to sign up and have 5 adsense accounts.

Thank you for this. I'm going to try it out and see what I can work out with local pizza parlors (and perhaps other local merchants, too).

I've never yet done any CPA marketing. I've honestly been afraid to because I know nothing about it, but you make it sound non-frightening and (gasp!) almost easy. Thanks!!

What I like best is that it's just a solid overall offer. Good service, good payout sort of (used to be much better) and good conversion.

Certainly not like a lot of the big earner trial offers!

Yeah Ken, the thing about Netflix is that it is truly a GREAT experience for everyone involved. I'd venture to say over 1,000 warriors have Netflix and probably 999 of them LOVE it. I know I do. It makes it really easy to pitch and promote when you KNOW you are providing value.

Nice. I was accepted into Netflix US but my Netflix Canada is still pending. It's been about 5 days.

I would like to do some offline advertising with Netflix (no redirects - just a regular lp). I've looked through their TOS and haven't seen anything against offline advertising. Does anyone know for certain that offline advertising is ok with netflix through gan?

Also, is it common to be accepted into netflix us but not netflix canada (or vice versa)?

          Thanks again Keith. Great guide.

The reason I got into Netflix was because I was promoting an **** trial offer pretty heavily (and making A LOT of money) but then saw all the complaints about the specific merchant and pulled my super profitable campaign. I then went on a quest to find a high paying offer that offered lots of value to all parties in the supply chain. Found Netflix and started doing that heavy. (well I had already promoting Netflix using various smaller scale methods and knew it converted, but then decided to take it to the next level)

Those were the days when the payout made it super profitable. In the past year its been squeezed a fair amount so clearly your margin gets hit hard

    Keith,

    Hi.

I just found this thread after getting rejected for the Netflix affiliate network. I built a site specifically to promote Netflix (Full Movie Online), got approved for the Google Affiliate Network, applied for Netflix, but in three days got rejected.

I suspect it's because my site is new, and is not currently getting a lot of traffic, but I'm not sure, as I don't know how they score applications.

Any suggestions or getting them to reconsider?

Hey I am a total newbie to CPA’s but after looking through some post I think I am going to try this out. And first of all wanted to thank you for just laying this method out without a WSO! That rocks man you got the right idea!

Anyways I was wondering about how you say you set up your site and everything and then bam 3-4 days later your approved by Netflix. Do you have to have traffic or backlinks or anything to your blooger blog?

Is all you need the blog with 3 post or whatever and to not have adsense on it to be approved by Netflix?

Also don’t know if you wanna share this, but how do you usually approach a local biz to place the flyers in there shop? It would seem a little odd to just be like “hey I wanna drop these in your store and I am going to tell you if they convert into
sales and I will drop back by with some cash if they do”? Seems like the biz would just think you are trying to use them and not give them anything in return.

And not sure if you wanna share this either, but on the flyers your basically just saying get a special 1 mo free trail offer to Netflix vist "mysite.com"

    Thanks for the thread.

The only way we cann all grow as marketers is to implement the L.I.T. rule. Learn it. Implement it. Teach it.

As far as the questions you asked, the steps above have been proven to work if you follow them exactly. Do not over complicate things.

The approach to businesses is easy. You are genuinely providing a Win/Win/Win opportunity so walk in confident and lay it out there.

The customers get Free Netflix for 30 days with their Pizza. (everyone loves Netflix) The store owner is make a potential $6-$7 profit off of every pie that is delivered. And the benefit for you is obvious.

As far as the flier goes you nailed it. Create something catchy and to the point. Direct them to your site with a simple redirect.

      To Your Success,
      Keith Scott

^ That's exactly what I did when I was new. Pizza places and chinese places.

In fact, I mentioned this method in Rags2Riches and one of my customers took the idea to a whole new level. I don't want to reveal his site for obvious reasons, but he streamlined the whole process to attract fast food restaurant participation all over the country, not just in his town.

Pretty incredible what a creative twist and some scaling can do!

There's a lot of good info on this thread about this affiliate program.

I have a quick question for those who have been making money with the GAN program.

I just made my first sale through my website and thought that through the GAN control panel that I could see the email address of who signed up.

The reason that I need to see the person's email address is so that I'm able to email them an incentive for doing so.

I thought that I'd be able to do so. If not, does anyone have any ideas on how I could pass through this variable so that I could see it.

I have a wordpress blog with an email newsletter sign up form and when they put their email address in the form, they get redirected to Netflix through my affiliate link.

I use mailchimp for the autoresponder and they are notified that they're being redirected.

The reason for the form is so that I can remind them to sign up for Netflix if they don't do sign up on the redirect and for me to compare email addresses within my list to the email address that I thought I'd be able to see on the GAN dashboard.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Also does netflix with GAN pay you per lead or per sale? If it is per sale wouldn’t you have to wait for a month for the free trail to be over?

This topic may be off from the original thread, but can't help it since seeing major CPA marketers are doing it and this question has been lingering with me, since I plan to go this route:

If Netflix pays you $12/lead. You split it off with pizza parlor in 1/2. How do you report the earnings to IRS for tax purpose? Let's say you generate 1,000 leads/month, it translates into $144,000/year. That's how much GAN will report the earnings to IRS, but in fact you only get $72,000 so you only report $72K earning to IRS for tax purpose, but will IRS ask you where the other 1/2 is?

    Any insight is appreciated...

    Thanks,

    dp

Just writing to share a win and some additional observations about getting approved by Netflix.

I was just approved this week for Netflix after initially being rejected in May (both actions through the Google Affiliate Network[GAN]).

I could not follow Keith's 13-step method to the letter, as I already had a GAN account. So, when I got to Step #9, I realized the key thing was not the creation of a new GAN account, but the REVISION of my existing GAN account profile using the information from the new blog I had created per Steps 1 and 2. (See the steps repeated below.)

    So, here's the sequence:

    * I got rejected applying through GAN in May.

    * I created a blog per Steps 1 and 2.

    * I followed all of the Steps up to Step 9. When I got to Step 9, as I already had a GAN account, I went to Settings and then Manage Account Profile. There, I changed the Display Name to match the name of my blog and, of course, put in the new site URL.

    * I believe that it is critical that the Display Name be related to the advertiser's product or services. So in this case, it was related to movies.

I say this because when I got rejected I had a shortened version of my company name, but the URL was to a WordPress blog that was a Netflix review site. So, it appears the Display Name may carry similar significance as the HTML title of a page.

I also revised my Publisher Site Description and aggressively promoted all of the movie and entertainment elements of the site.

*Next, I attempted to reapply to Netflix. However, I discovered I could not, as the Netflix opportunity was no longer available to me. It was in the rejected category.

*I decided to go ahead and apply for Roku. I was approved within 2 days.

*As soon as I was approved, I drafted a very detailed email in which I calmly requested Netflix to reconsider my affiliate application. I explained that my application should be approved because (1) I was approved for Roku; (2) I had a great movie-related site that was perfect for Netflix; (3) I love movies; and (4) I love Netflix and have been a customer for years.

*I further explained I was forced to write to them because the Netflix opportunity was in the rejected category in my GAN account and thus I could not reapply through GAN.

*I then repeated in bullet format and in abbreviated form, the key reasons they should grant my request.

*I then asked them to please promptly grant my request based on the reasons I had listed.

    * A day later I got a response to my email that I had been approved!

The email address, by the way, can be found in the Netflix profile within GAN.

So, this shows a few very important things:

1 - You need good related content.
2 - You need a Display Name, URL and Description that make it obvious your site is compatible with the target advertiser's products or services.
3 - Netflix seems to really like blogspot accounts.
4 - Netflix responds quickly to emails from affiliates or potential affiliates.

    Hope this helps!

    ----------------------------------------------

What made the critical difference was that I did create
I put up a Wordpress site a couple months ago, expecting it would be very easy to get approved as a Netflix affiliate. I had joined Peerfly solely because they offered the Netflix opportunity

Has anyone had any issues linking signups through a different page than the one that was approved?

Ideally I would just like to create a super-basic landing page at a generic domain like "freetrial.com" that contains only the banner link. I don't want my affiliation to be conspicuous by directing customers through my personal blog.

Also, how does the "Netflix Stars" offer work, it pays $25 but I can't see any explanation for how to use it. Mostly need help with previous post #91 though.

          Thanks.

I would like to know the answer to this, too. Is it necessary or required that all the traffic you send to Netflix goes through your initial blog/site? Or, once approved as an affiliate, are you allowed to put the banners on other blogs/sites you have?

For most networks, you don't need to use the site you were approved for, but of course you still need to follow all other restrictions of the offer.

I'm waiting 8 days now. I was approved for roku but as for netflix, there's no response yet. Hope they will approve me.

      I was denied. I'm a non-us affiliate. Might that be a reason?

Edit: After sending them a e-mail for reconsideration I received the following:
Thank you for your note. We're not able to approve your application at
this time. Though Netflix does not provide feedback on the application
denial process, I do encourage you to apply to other Google Affiliate
      Network advertiser programs.

I think it's because you don't have enough content... the site that you have doesn't have anything except 3 youtube video links... maybe you could check mine out - I got approved.

It doesn't matter if you are not from the US. It's mostly the content of your blog. See if you can add additional stuff... or link it here, I'll see if I can help.

In these cases, a movie review site is one which could work best. Just showcase some of the latest movies in the last two months, and do a small 4-5 liner write up on the good points of that movie, that's all that's required. Try not to target Netflix or any similar company, just make it a simple review site. See the one I made for reference in case you would like to:

i doubt is that easy now.

adsense account is very hard to get, many steps to go tru.

and u need longer history to ur site then they approve.

if u just made it within a week they will reject.

Sorry, but I beg to differ... I started a blog for a client and applied for adsense, and he got approved too - Adsense > GAN > Netflix... it's not easy, yes I give you that... I think it all depends on how genuine your site looks... start off a blog, post three or four entries in there and then apply for adsense. Keep updating your blog regularly, maybe two or three posts a week, make sure that you keep updating your blog till you get approved... this whole process should not take more than a week and a half if it does get extended.

Well, I had a disappointing first run.

I put my handouts in a couple of visible high traffic areas and didn't have a single conversion. Either my copy isn't compelling enough or Netlfix has become too saturated now. I am in Canada so we only got the streaming service a little while ago, but I feel like everyone I talk to is already a subscriber. I am going to have to re-tool my approach I guess.

        How is everyone else doing?

    Help!

I created a Blogger blog related to movie reviews, etc., 2 weeks ago and have been steadily adding posts every couple days. Applied for GAN and was approved.

So in anticipation of getting ready to apply for Netflix, I removed the adsense from my blog. But, when I view it, the ads are gone from below the posts and the sidebar, but I still have a banner ad across the top below the header. So I went into my Adsense account and removed the site in the list of approved sites. The banner ad is still there.

What else can I do to get rid of the ad?

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. Under the "monetize" section I removed Adsense, but the banner at the top was separate and not included under that section. I had to edit that section separately.

      Declined!

I followed the steps exactly, except that I made more than 3 posts. I thought a little more content would be better, since only 3 posts might be considered to be thin content. I created a Blogger blog about movie reviews and news, and made 8 posts over a period of 2 weeks: movie reviews, and a list of movies released on DVD each of the 2 weeks.

I also created a nice header and uploaded it so my blog wouldn't look like all the others. I spent a lot of time making my posts unique. I also followed the advice about making my Username similar to my blog name.

Roku approved me almost immediately, and after 3 days Netflix declined me. So maybe it works for some, but certainly not for all. It kind of irritates me that I spent 2 weeks of time, thought and effort and got declined, when others slapped up 3 posts in 2 days and got approved.

Apparently it's just a roll of the dice and they really don't care if your blog is unique.
