What is a 2nd tier network?

I'm not a fan of that kind of terminology, i don't think it's accurate and I'm yet to see a clear cut definition of what makes a network 1st tier compared to 2nd tier...

Based off everything i heard about Wolf Storm i would put them at the top of the list of networks to work with...

1st tier, 2nd tier networks...none of that matters, all that matters is your first hand experiences with a network, someone may consider Wolf Storm a 2nd tier network but i know many others that only use that network so it all depends on your experiences in my opinion.

Hi Copeac Steve, thanks for the input. The reason I ask is because some people on this forum have suggested that new cpa marketers should first join "2nd tier" networks before joining "1st tier" networks. Is a 2nd tier network basically just a smaller sized network?

Some networks are easy to apply, some networks are difficult;
Some networks are easy to get approved, some networks don't;
Some networks are loose on the way you promoting offer, some networks strict;
...
In my opinion, the "tier" they really meant might be: start doing from easy ones, learn, then try those more complicated newwork.

Yep its just subjective terminology. 2nd tier normally refers to either smaller networks, newer networks, less reputable networks or a combo thereof.

The thing is that 2nd tier doesn't necessarily mean less quality or payouts. Sometimes they are but not always. At the end of the day, so long as you are with reputable networks with decent networks, then no matter what tier people call the network, who really cares.

Some people refer to second tier networks as networks with many or all re-brokered offers, which generally means a lower payout. But again, its very subjective

My pleasure, i think you're spot on.

2nd tiered networks i suppose are given that name because they are new networks, smaller networks, or networks that specialize in a specific niche or vertical based on my experiences.

I know alot of "2nd tiered" networks that go about their business much more effectively than some of the larger and more well known "1st tier networks"

There are loads of network reps on this forum that can help you acquire an account...some of the networks I've seen on here that respond consistently and are known for helping out their publishers:

I agree with Steve here. The "tier" association is subjective and can be interpreted based on what YOU see as a good network. There are simply too many different attributes that can be associated with a network to automatically categorize it. Split-test the networks, build a relationship with your AM, and create your own tier system
