Ok, so I want to try Facebook Ads...

I've been more of an infoproduct creator online for the past 5-6 years. I've dabbled in affiliate marketing, but found making my own ebooks was much easier and profitable.

Now that Google is so hard to crack on Adwords, I would like to try some ads on Facebook. I'm also registered for several CPA networks as well, some of the bigger ones.

Facebook has MEGA traffic so it would be nice to hit a winner on there. The potential is huge.

So as a FB ads newbie, and from what I've learned by looking around, should I follow this step-by-step formula?

1. Find an Offer or Product FIRST

2. Do some demographic analysis on it via sites like Quantcast, Google Insights, etc.

3. Target on Facebook

Now my biggest questions are...

A.) Do you use a lander for most of your CPA ad URL's or direct link? If you use a lander, what do you use?

B.) What is the easiest way to track results?

Would love to know your feedback, tips, etc.

Also thinking of just using FB for leads only, then market to them OR just pick a niche within CPA offers, create a Wordpress site with offers mixed in with content pages and then promote on FB.

A.) It depends on the offer, different offers will convert differently. You need to test both to see which one converts better. Make one ad with your landing page and make another ad by direct linking, and then compare data.

The biggest thing about getting into Facebook advertising is the testing. You will most likely lose money in the beginning, but don't look at it as "losing money." Look at it as "buying data," you're spending money to find out what will make you money. Make sense?

    B.)
If you're direct linking to your CPA offer, just put in a SUB-ID and use your network's tracking. For example, if you make 5 offers targeting different states, put the state's name in each SUB-ID, and then you can see which state is converting and which isn't converting.

Some people are going to say that direct linking doesn't work on Facebook - for me, facebook usually lets me do direct linking, but I've NEVER had a direct link from MaxBounty approved.

If you decide to use a landing page, you should set up at Tracking202 account! It's free and easy to learn.

    Good luck!

Facebook ads work, but you need to submit a lot of them to find winners. That's why I use social ads tool for all my facebook campaigns. It automates it all. It's not free but it's well worth the money if you know what you're doing.

I like using landing pages to help presell on traffic, especially since advertising on facebook is really interupted marketing

    Track with prosper202

Ok, let's see if I can give you some nice tips...

First, don't simply pick a random product, choose a market instead. I don't know how you've been working with your own ebooks, but every successful marketer that I know (including myself) works with a specific market. The guys making money in the weight loss niche are not the same making money with insurance offers, who are not the same promoting Bizopp offers... You need to pick a specific market, decide on the niche and demographics before start thinking about offers.

Second, put your focus on creating campaigns that don't depend on a specific offer. Understand what ads and landing pages perform well with your market and then it will be all about split-testing offers and finding a few ones that can give you a positive ROI, which isn't hard.

On FB the secret is to have a high CTR, if you can reach a high CTR then you can get a lot of traffic for an affordable price, but if you fail in getting a high CTR FB will become very expensive for you.

Finally, about landing pages, I think it depends on what you're doing. Dating, gaming, mobile, etc are good for direct linking, but niches like weight loss, beauty, etc may require landing pages. I only build landing pages for FB when I'll capture leads (long-term and more profitable, but more complex), but this isn't a hard rule.

I think FB dont allow Direct links of the CPA offers while advertising.
we must have a good landing page first and put our adds over there right

They allow it. I have seen many ads with direct links for zip submit offers.

Actually, they do, it just depends on the offer. Many free lead generation offers in the dating, gaming, mobile, insurance, etc niches pass without landing pages.

Just use your own domain to redirect the traffic. Most of the times it's hard to get ads approved when using links from the networks. Maybe it's because their domains are black-listed, not sure, but it does happen.

Take it from me: Facebook traffic is horrendous in quality! I did some lead generation for stuff like life insurance, debt management. So I used my own website (no direct linking, bad idea anyway as FB hates aff links) and tracking was simple enough as I knew how much I was paid per lead and I only sent FB traffic to that specific site.

Take my advice and try something of better quality, Adwords is still the best quality traffic out there.

Any questions just let me know
