Hi Guys,

Two emails to my Affiliate manager "Jeff" at leadbolt and still no response!

OK, so maybe someone else can help... I installed the content locker on a website that's getting 14000 uniques a month. Next thing boom, I drop to like 5uv's a day. My assumption is that Googlebot tried to crawl my site and it de-indexed me because it couldn't access my site and therefore thinks I'm "offline".

How do I get round this guys? Could this be the case? Would like to hear anyone's experience with this?

Thanks

Derek.

yes, totally wtf, man, totally wtf.

Well, have you checked for your site's ranking in Google? You don't say if you have actually been de-indexed.

Being de-indexed is pretty rare, it's much more common to get dropped from the rankings to somewhere in the hundreds spots.

To check if you have truly been de-indexed, just do a search for your domain name including the "http://" and do it all in quotes and if your site shows up, it has not been deindexed, just dropped from the top rankings. Some call it the Google slap.

Thanks for that! Yeah sorry, probably just slapped. I should say, I instantly de-activated the locker and within a few days my traffic has come back but I'm afraid to activate it again...

    Hey Derek,

If Jeff has yet to respond, feel free to hit me up and I'll see what we can troubleshoot for you to include the UV's drop.

Call them! it seems too many affiliate managers can't reply to e-mails, phone calls are much more effective

I've heard of this happening with leadbolt one time before. I never got an account so I'm not sure how LeadBolt technically displays the gateway, and it's actually pretty confusing since Google only looks at HTML data and indexes no AJAX content by default, but it looks like they don't use the standard as a straight AJAX and a Javascritpt floater because I have a bunch of BLAM and CPALead gateways that aren't caught by Google crawler.
