Landing page question

I want to promote some CPA offers by using facebook ads. I know I need a landing page since I cant directly link to the offer. My question is has anyone used blogger for their landing pages? Unlike wordpress, it's much easier to use and I dont have to pay for the domain or hosting.

Also I've never created my own landing page so does anyone have any advice or an example to follow to create a good landing page?

You can use whatever you want. Blogger is ok.

    You might like weebly better.

To see good landing pages, just search google for whatever the keyword is and start clicking on ads. It will be obvious what pages look good and dont. Get ideas from the people already advertising.

    My advice:

1 - The landing page should be short! (The user does not have to scroll the page to see all the material on the landing page)

2 - It depends on the niche but if it is dating then use amateur looking women/men.

3 - You can just make a screenshot of the offer's LP and change it to get a good CTR

4 - If you are planning to test many versions of the LP only have one change! For example, first change the title, then the picture then the button and then borde and see what you get.

5 - It is better to use a Geo-targeting script in your lander since it makes the user feel good about the offer. just search geo-targeting at Google and you will get lots of results. A free service is geoPlugin to geolocate your visitors

6 - If the offer you are going to promote does not have a good landing page then you have to do more work and presell the offer.

    Good luck with your campaign

my opinion : social media is not a good place for doing media buys and advertising cpa offers as the trend moves very fast.

thus u need to keep changing offers and landing pages and all that sort as compared to other networks like google yahoo or bing which may last much longer.

as for landing page i would say get a domain, dont try to keep everything cheap and cheat your way.

landing page is one of the most important factor in your conversions, i dont think you would want to take any short cuts.

get a professional designer, buy a domain and host it.

then set up your ppc campaign.

dont use free services. trust me. they hurt your conversions bad. !

What would be an approximate cost of having a professional design a lp for you?

Of course it depends on exactly what you are looking for. I bet you can get one designed for $20-$50 at one of the main outsourcing hubs.

But remember that you can quite easily built out a lander yourself. It's worth it and great knowledge to have anyway so that you can more effectively split test.

I would go with your own designed lander rather than blogger. A lot more flexibility and ease in split testing your lander.

      hey kenster,

I am in the same boat here. Just got accepted to my first CPA network nd was hoping to try facebook ads first. If you don't advise using Blogger, what about Wordpress or Weebly?

Wordpress is fine. I mean ultimately when doing split testing you want as much control as possible. You also want to look professional. Now with domains so darn cheap and hosting so cheap, you can have your own custom site on your own custom domain for $5 or $10

You also are more flexible in your split testing

Blogger is ok, but make your own landing page with WP just make the thing more controllable, a more controllable landing page often means more conversions.

I'm afraid this is WAY too broad a topic. I'm no landing page expert (wish I was) but it's part art and part science. Basically your landing page has to answer whatever question you asked (or implied) with your ad. It has to focus your user on whatever action you want him to take (sale, lead signup, whatever) with a minimum of distractions. You want to send him right down the funnel to conversion.

Since you're starting, you want to start small. Google some information on PPC landing pages, take a look at some samples for the type of business you're promoting. And test and test and test.

    My advice..

Get some cheap hosting, a domain name, and learn how to use Wordpress.

Believe it or not for under 50 bucks you can definitely get started and thats including a Wordpress Course if you want to take one.

This will allow you to be flexible and save you a lot of time and money in the future.

P.S you can still direct link on FB for some offers and networks

Direct Linking is common on facebook. Just make sure it is a solid offer and nothing too spammy. I normally direct link on facebook most of the time.

Landing pages should just be short and sweet and used as an extra method to sell the user into whatever offer you are promoting. They can be blog, review or new article style.

If you are planning to have more than one landing page you should get some good software to build professional ones. I use authority pro but there are a few other ones like optimize press. Compare them but a good one of these will be worth gold to you in the long run.
