So you sign up to their affiliate programs and then check them out? I am looking for something like I have seen in the cosmetic industry where people sign up and receive a free hamper or something. Maybe diet pills.

There's one for **** Berry where users enter their details to receive a free sample and just pay shipping & handling of around $4.

If they do this, you get $30.

I've seen this particular one at Maxbounty, but they are also running similar at Affiliate.com and HydraNetwork.

Many of them have shady business practices, e.g. ignoring cancellation requests and continuing to rebill the customer over and over again, even after the customer repeatedly calls or emails to cancel (which they ignore).

These offers have gotten so many complaints that Google recently slapped many of these sites out of the content network.

Sure you can make money promoting these CPA offers, but would you feel good about promoting a scammy website just so you can make a few CPA commissions?

You are right about that...that is exactly why most campaigns in the diet field where slapped hard by Google because of this very **** Berry CPA offer.

Way too many complaints for Google to ignore, and now the whole diet field even though many offers were legitimate and had great customer service, now have to rethink and redo their campaigns because of this.

Kyle. You're saying that as long as an offer makes you money, you'll promote it as an affiliate - and you don't care if the people you promote it to get screwed by the merchant? Because it's "not your problem"?

As for the affiliates making 20k+ per day, surely they have great affiliate marketing skills, so I don't see why they can't make comparable amounts of money promoting other offers (that don't screw their customers).

I like how this sentiment matches up with the quotation at the bottom of your sig file that says:

"You can have anything You want in life, so long as you help enough others also get what they want."

There's an offer like this that has just met the legal definition of fraud and is on the FTC Watchlist (not an AcaiBerry offer). You can't really control that, though, so what the heck...move that sucka!

Wow... as an affiliate that wouldn't be your problem? So, let's say for instance you are a promoting a product that you know won't work and is labeled as a scam and essentially just swindles money from people, you believe you have no accountability for that?

This type of thinking is what is what hurts the internet marketing industry as a whole let alone your personal credibility.

I believe it's one thing to be promoting a product and not realize it's a bit shady but to openly keep promoting something once you know it has problems it's a whole different ball game. Ultimately every side has some form of accountability. The seller, affiliate and buyer all are in different ways accountable. To advocate it's promotion to line your own pockets and knowingly screw somebody isn't a good business practice.

This simply shows your ethics are in the gutter with the sleazy merchants.

Of course there is responsibility on the affiliate if you know the offer is bogus or the company is not treating customers appropriately. You promote a company that lies, you become part of the lie. Period.

I agree. As an Affiliate you should promote what is hot.. If it dies one day due to those reasons you can't control just be ready to move to the next best thing. As a Network i have to worry about this kind of crap, because we can get caught holding the bag, so we screen the hell out of the advertiser to make sure there is little chance of shady activity (never 100%)

I also agree there is still huge money on **** berry offers. $20k a day yup we have a few of those guys in our network. In fact i write checks weekly to SEO | SEM guys (not networks) who make over $100,000 a week running these kinds of offers. We have one now that pays $37 a lead and converts!

I agree its the CPA network's responsibility to deal with this stuff, but that mentality still isn't right. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

For the OP, Hydra has a few you might like.
Colon cleansing stuff, 'natural weight loss' products, even an easy email submit 'free healthy samples' offer. (although I think every CPA network is running the free healthy samples offer)

Here's my stats for a PPC campaign (not Adwords) that I kicked off on 3 Jan:

Budget spent this month (USD): 282.60
Commission Month To Date: $624.00 - january Stats

You do the math. And this is just the testing phase - once I optimize and scale...

How long have I been seriously (i.e. not half-assed/half-heartedly) promoting CPA offers?

Only ONE month!

All I did was apply the *general* PPC strategies from Commission Blueprint (which LOST me money promoting CB products) to CPA offers. And PPC is only the tip of the iceberg, IMHO - there are strategies that give FAR better ROI.

I recommend reading the CPA series at cashtactics.net - it made my first PPC campaign profitable in 2 days using some of that info! There is a lot of free information on the web. Find it and you'll have more solid info than any ebook can give you...

I am really trying to help them with worthwhile offers.

Just an update, Clickbooth seems to have some excellent offers available. Chatted to my affiliate manager on Skype who is helping me get good converting offers. I have sent out a broadcast email so let's see what happens.

Most networks are carrying offers relating to Wu-Yi Tea weight loss. It is converting extremely well.

As far as the scaminess of the website though I have no idea. Doesn't sound like they could be any worse than those **** Berry sites.

well this is hard to answer.... some networks claim to have Affiliates that can do 200k a week, shoot i even here a day... The problem is 1. they are not always telling the truth and 2. who are the affiliates? Many call other networks that tney work with Affiliates and that would greatly skew things.. So the answer is different depending on who you talk with. I would say a big dog (i exclude networks and media companies) is someone who can do anywhere from 10,000-100,000 a week - i know this is a huge gap... a monster is doing over 150,000 a week. smaller puppies well they trickle in anywhere from $5.00 to 500 a week... does that make sense? As for PPC i think a good LP and buying to get in the 3-4 page is a good place to be - i also like the idea of building sites that are catagory specific but not brand and doign both organic and paid search..

I see someone even made a blog post about this, come on now people grow up seriously.

If the offer is still active on the network and I have just spoken with my AM about it and he tells me it's top 3 converting on the network right now... A publisher who is anybody in this game is going to promote it ... PERIOD

Unless I have verifiable proof the company I am promoting is literally stealing people's money, then I have no reason to stop promoting an offer. Rumors and he said she said don't measure up, sorry.

And what about the customers who don't read the fine print? Or don't follow the instructions? They are heavy complainers and sometimes that is what ruins it for the company.
