Are Free or Email Zip CPA offers obsolete?

Hi, All

I recently got my first CPA conversion of a whopping $1.30 on a email/zip(free giftcard) offer. Yay. However, I don't know how I feel about promoting email/zip offers any further. They convert.(at a very lower rate, but convert) I guess it's good for a newbie like myself to get a taste of CPA. But I am quite concerned for my readers or visitors of my site. Sure, people are entering their information on their own free will. Does anyone really win a $500 gift card or a iPhone 5(yep, iPhone 5) ever? I have posted that question on this very forum, but no one replied that they have indeed won a $1000 walmart card. I also asked my affiliate account managers, but no replies yet.(it's been a while)

Another thing to consider is the profit margins. I'm going to start with Free Marketing(articles, videos) first. But if I do graduate someday to PPC marketing, the margins will be really thin.

What are your thoughts?
If you visit a site with a Free $100 outback gift card, do you <a>become instantly suspicious of the entire website, <b>become just a little cautious, or <c>it doesn't bother you one bit?

Thank you for your input.

If you're worried about losing respect for Email Submits, then I wouldn't do it if it will affect your site or reputation (if they know you).

Do they really get the gift? Yes, IF they finish going through the funnel, which is rare. That means they'll have to sign up or complete other offers (usually means they have to come out of pocket). The email submitted is used to pump out a chain of emails relevant to the offer, and even has offer walls after they submit their email address.

    Hope that helps.
