CPA+FLYERS+SMS Method - $200 overnight

*This method may not be for everyone, it involves flyers, and I know how touchy a lot of you are about leaving your home, so this is just for those who don't mind pounding some pavement, or paying someone to do it.*

What's up guys,

This past weekend I tested an idea that me and my friends came up with last weekend. We go out sometimes and hop nightclubs in my area and last weekend was one of those weekends.

When we came out the club at the end of the night there was a flyer underneath my windshield wiper which was promoting some pool party at someone's house or something..

I don't know why the idea started sparking that particular time but I always have flyers on my car at the end of the night when the club is over.

Well, me and my friends talked a little about it on the ride home. Next morning I woke up and printed out 200 flyers like this...

Was it a fun night?
If you enjoyed the party tonight, text FREEVIP to '54545'
and learn how you could win free VIP entry + 2 drinks!
(plus many more special offers!)
Winners picked every month!

In the autoresponder that gets sent when they opt-in I looked for some incentive offers to promote. I found a "napster" offer that paid about 7 bucks and was incent-ok.

The opt-in message went like, "Congrats! In order to qualify for a chance to win, you have to sign up for napster here mydomain.com, look out for updates and other offers!"

So we went out again this past weekend on Friday and left the club a little early to flyer the cars.

We got all 200 flyers off in like 11 minutes tops.

Woke up yesterday morning with 93 subs and 29 leads.

So that was $200 overnight..pretty nice.

Leads and subs have been dripping in a little bit today. So far from our 11 minute flyering from Friday, I've made 42 leads.

Every 30 days, Im going to pick a random number and text them that they have been chosen as the winner.

I talked to the club already and they're VIP tickets are $25 and their two drinks will probably be around 10 bucks each. So that is about $45 that I will have to pay for this.

The offer is no cash incentive so my AM said I couldn't technically paypal them the cash for the ticket and drinks. So I called the club and asked if I could come pay for a vip ticket and a $20 drink voucher to give to my friend. They said it was cool but didn't really have drink vouchers so when I went up there I got the tickets and the manager made a handwritten little card and signed it good as $20 cash at the bar.

In 30 days when i text the winner, im just going to get their address and mail the voucher and ticket to their house so they can receive their winnings.

That first 200 flyer run was just my first test and it made me $200 overnight and I have over 100+ subs to market to now. I'm looking into more offers that I can send every week but now I plan on repeating the method with 2,000 flyers next time and hitting a couple different nightclub parking lots.

Need quick money? Hop on this next weekend.

Any questions, tips, suggestions, feel free to share. This method is nowhere near perfect and made me some good coin. We can work together and perfect this method to make some serious cash.

Arron

Yea Man...I will tell yea that 1000 flyers at a concert saying "freeVIP" text 862829 now to enter converts very well. Never tried night clubs, but I am sure it is just as good.

We would mainly promote like you said some ringtone offers or even think outside the box and hit up local musicians and charge 100 bucks a broadcast to promote their local shows to music fans.

Using Tickets to the next hot show is the perfect way to build a list at a concert. Can be used with SMS or Email. All you need is a good domain, which I have MemphisRocks.com. Would also be good for a content locker and a cpa offer.

Gonna try this one this week.

            Always like your ideas Arron...thanks.

Meaning that you can actually go into the local businesses and charge them 20 bucks to for your Mobile Marketing Services. Ask them if you can get any special coupons.

Most businesses will immediately give you some sort of special discount and you will then target there customers while building your list.

Yes, I have another way for the people to complete the offers, but for sake of my new WSO I will not be releasing that here. Basically you want to keep URLs off your flyers except for branding purposes. They tend to decrease conversions. Stick to keywords and shortcodes

(such as the VIP and free drinks) I think the wal-mart idea is clever but i would like to promote something that you can actually manage with the owner or person in charge there. Any thoughts?
You do not need night clubs. I have several examples of places you can do this in the WSO.

I would go to restaurants and high school sporting events. Ask restaurant owners for discounts and tell them you will promote their business for free (You are building your mobile list this way).

I also do the ticket deal. What is cool here is you can promote CPA for multiple things to people who like concerts

Really depends on how your talking about doing it. Flyers work but they dont work if you just throw up some paper with a free ipod offer on it.

EDIT, and im not sure about grocery stores, you will more than likely be escorted off the property before you know it. Nightclub parking lots are different stories though as it is common practice to leave promotional flyers on the cars in club lots.

I found a place where you get 5,000 ( quarter page ) flyers for around $120 or so. These were the club-style colored flyers that are supposedly good for doing promotions. I will have to look for the website and post the link for you.

I haven't experimented with CPA and flyering much yet, but this is starting to get the juices flowing...

Flyers are hard in my opinion. This is by far the most success I have had. I think it is more because of the mobile marketing side of things. Like everything add your own creativity and success will come eventually.

The hardest part is finding your CPA offer.

        and definitely share the link

You are exactly right Chad. The mobile marketing aspect makes it much more appealing, especially to the users.

Most people would rather text a # to try to win some free tickets/passes or drinks rather than to go to a website to win a FREE I-Pad, that they mostly know is advertising for affiliate commission anyways.

Try football games when the season starts! There are THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of people at those. But the people vary so much you don't know how many will be elderly and just toss it, etc. Concerts seem like a good idea, and maybe even college campus parking lots while class is in?

Today I did a research about passing flyers, well, it can lead to an arrest IF you don't know how to do it right. You have the right to pass flyers on public places but it depends on where you live. If it is private property, the owner can ban you from that place so make sure you ask for their permission before that.

oh and stay away from places that have patrolling guards, they don't like it

I am going to give this idea a try - I think it has a lot of merit.

        Couple of thoughts:

Hotels - Hit hotel parking lots at night with a "Travelers VIP Club" - the CPA offer could be some of the restaurant gift cards, etc. The monthly prize could be a gift certificate to a restaurant somewhere.

Walmart - You could hit hundreds of cars in one pass - plus you could return every couple of hours and an entirely new group of cars would be there.

Home Depot - again, lots of cars!

This idea has lots of potential!

It does work and for me I never had flyer success (besides Netflix but who didn't in 08 lol) until the mobile introduction. You need to make sure the audience is targeted to a certain group. For Walmart I'd hit up 300 cars....each 100 cars would have a different offer for testing.

          Then split test them.

I think you DIDN"T read my post about flyers, those places are Private properties and you can't do that without the manager's consent. It is not hard to find a place with tons of car, but finding a place which you can distribute flyers is.

Yes you technically cannot do this. I have never had a problem period. Do at your own risk for sure!

I agree, technically you probably can't do this - I am willing to take a bit of a risk.

I found a $1,000 Walmart gift card offer - email submit.

              Flyer:

Good Shopping Trip? Make it better next time!
Join VIP Discount Club and get a $1,000 Walmart Gift Card!
Text XXXXX to XXXXX for details (and other great discounts)

There is no incentive here on the initial offer. Once they text I send them the link - period.

The next text that goes out 7 days later will explain that we are giving away such and such gift certificate at the end of the month - and to be entered complete this offer. This would be an offer that allows incentive traffic.

My thought is to mix it up with incentive offer and just plain 'ole offers - text no more than once a week.

I will be doing a test of a few hundred tomorrow.

              Thoughts?

I like it, but I would make sure you understand all the risk involved.

I have always promoted legitimate groupon or coupon offers that have real value. Mobile Lists are very rare these days and can make you a lot of money so you want to keep those subscribers.

                Thoughts?

I hear what your saying - other than Groupon where can you find "real coupon" offers that are "legititmate" and pay commissions (with wide ranging appeal)?

I am not really sure what you're referring to....

Do you think most people are clicking the link in the text message and completing the offers on their smart phones?

I was planning to use bit.ly to shorten the links, but if some are completing them on their PC's that is a tougher url to copy.

Hey guys, I gotta say I love this method and the idea is brilliant. I do not however have the luxury of having big clubs where I live and they're all pretty small. I was wondering if there was any other ideas where you could promote an offer that you could arrange with the establishment? (such as the VIP and free drinks) I think the wal-mart idea is clever but i would like to promote something that you can actually manage with the owner or person in charge there. Any thoughts?

We have publishers doing a similar method, but for VIP tickets to concerts, and really good seats to sports events! Granted the prize is more expensive, but that means the offer is much sweeter . It makes me happy to see you sharing this with the community!

This maybe a stupid question but hear me out: so say 200 flyers go out
    100 people text you
50 people fill out the promo

My question is how do I know which 50 of the 100 filled out the promo as I won't have a customer cell number in my cpa account.

So I know which of the 50 is going to be my random winner.

Sorry if I am missing something, I'm not quite grasping the way to correlate them to one another.

The list you are building is all through a SMS Mobile Autoresponder. You then track the messages you send just like and email.

I think you missed the point of the warrior's question, sure its clear an autoresponder is used. The person sends a keyword and you know you have a subscriber, but in the example of the OP, there is an offer sent out to sign up to napster.. ..

the question asked is.. how do you actually know who signed up to Napster, in order to give out the nightclub voucher? The answer is..

In this case, you can't know who signed up..

Another way to do this is of you just had a simple subscribers list that you randomly gave out a prize to, this is incentive enough and you would not have any unknowns. Allow people to optout from you, so you have an active list as well.

Spamming people with offers carries the similar spam laws as emails so be cautious.

That is what i presumed, though it isn't completely accurate but like you said the incentive is enough, thank you.

The reason this method is so hot is because the SMS Mobile Marketing is so easy to remember. I have found SMS marketing to convert way better than just putting an URL on a flyer.

I've had a little trouble with flyers at the colleges, but I was putting the flyers on the vehicles. Never crossed my mine to hire someone to "hand them out". That would get by the security guard in the parking lot.

Jerry that is the best part about offline is you can easily outsource. Believe it or not you can also ask permission of small business owners and etc. Most of the time if you explain to them what you are doing they will let you or give you an alternative.

Hey I send all my traffic to a mobile landing page that I made. I track them traditional through my mobile landing page.

We must be having a simple misunderstanding somewhere hehe

So I cannot track them through the text message unless I use a unique link....but I can track them from my landing page where they complete the offer.

I just wanted to post again. First off, THANK YOU to the creator of this thread.

I asked an affiliate manager if it was OK to basically create a domain name, redirect it to a CPA link, create and print fliers and distribute them around the city, on Fiverr, etc. Anywhere that someone will print them and then go hand them out.

And he said it was OK after looking at my flyer!

I can seriously see this just skyrocketing for me.. And it's all thanks to the OP.

I never would have even thought about, mainly because its just so simple and easy to overlook once you get caught up in the whole online aspect of marketing!

Also, a huge thanks goes out to Peerfly Corey - this guy cruises the web and answers all of the questions about the program on like.. any forum/blog/you name it and he's there.. I don't know how you do it, but you do it perfectly.

That is a LOT of web to patrol but you have got this down to an exact science. And your posts are always professional, no matter how bad things sound from the start. And to make it even better, they always make sense! No fluff-posting or legal mumbo jumbo, just straight to the point answers that even a 3rd grader could understand.

So yeah, I didn't want to create an entire thread for my wall-of-text, it's not needed. But I still felt obligated to publicly declare how awesome both of you are.

    That is all.

So yeah, I didn't want to create an entire thread for my wall-of-text, it's not needed. But I still felt obligated to publicly declare how awesome both of you are.

      That is all.

Hey thank you from both of us!

Now one thing I do want you to know most city's have laws against randomly distributing flyers. This is a USE AT YOUR OWN RISK method.

Check with the local laws and go after it. All the promotion I do is in legal places and if it is private I get permission

I haven't been handing any out, I ask the store manager if I can post one in their window. They see a "free laptop" flyer and are like... "A FLYER FOR A WHAT?? GO FOR IT!!! "

I'm gonna have to take a ton of these to the beach with us next week! I just thought of that!

I was thinking "I have got to invest in a full tank of gas sometime and hit every store within a couple hundred miles, then I remembered that we have reservations for next week!

Hehehe this is gonna be awesome!

I don't care what anybody says about Warrior Forum, this place is not so bad.

I have been thinking of doing the same type of thing with bandit signs for CPA offers. Nightclubs is a great idea! Glad to hear that it is working out for you. Once you get any other kinks worked out and have some really good converting copy...you can use those flyer distributor companies and hit different cities all over the country! Fiverr is a great place for that too. I know here in the bay area there is a bunch of companies that have different areas of the city (and surrounding cities like berkley etc) that they will target for you as well.

yeah i see what you're saying.

im in the process of negotiating to get my sig back, if/when i do, i will be promoting different sites than i was before anyway.

but i definitely agree, thats why i got the domain name in the first place. that way it wasnt just an affiliate link when they moused over it, it showed an actual website.

i know those direct affiliate links have horrible CTRs, especially when marketing to marketers. they are the biggest skeptics of all. lol

If I promoting a particular WSO, can I send them straight to the affiliate link? Do I have to send them to a landing page - then to the affiliate link. Or I could just put a redirect on the domain.

    What are your thoughts?

I would rather send them to a landing page with an opt in box so at least you can start building a list and THEN when they opt in, you can direct them to the offer.

That way the traffic you get once can be monetised over and over again (as long as you do not spam them!)

Yeah, I've been going to every business in town, asking if they would mind me posting it in the window.

I've only had like 3 places say no because its against store policy, but even then they still took the flyers to post in the employee break room. LOL!

    They direct people to:

    iphone.bestfreepc.com for the iPhone 5

    bestfreepc.com for the laptop

It just says "See details @ (website here)" at the bottom

The timing for this method is perfect school is back !

Keep it simple I think you have..your just using domains to redirect correct ?

I would also make your domains sound a bit sexier and personalized if your targeting college campuses.

      Something like FreePcforNyustudents.com

Although its a bit longer its more specific and for the students it feels more exclusive, which is key

Not sure what you mean by QR.

Are you talking about subids ?

You know, I went to google and typed in "Free Walmart Gift Card" and tons of responses came back. Well, I clicked on one (customer) and proceeded to get my Free Gift Card!! NOT

Not only do you NOT get the gift card you get buried in so deep with other ads, sign ups, etc. etc. Eventually the person gets frustrated and gives up. You have their email address and $1.00 - $2.00, they on the other hand have NO FREE GIFT CARD!!

        Doesn't make sense.

I think the CPD is a better offer. Cost Per Download - At least your customer gets what they want and don't have to jump through tons of hoops to get it. Check out your CPDs with your networks - you may find some good offers. I found games, movies, and tool bars!!

Just my thoughts!! I know a lot of networks are promoting these spammy offers that take people into the deep blue and beyond.

Just use delivr.com free and easy and work

Yea the main thing about this method is the fact that you can build your SMS list

I send them to a custom mobile landing page and try to get them to opt-in to my list.

Flyers convert much better with short codes and QR codes in my experience.

      Offervault.com --> search napster.. $6.20 offer there.

I understand how it works!!! I don't care how many hoops a person has to jump through, he/she will never get the $1,000 Gift Card (Walmart, Target, Subway, etc.).

Just go to Google, type in "Free Walmart Gift Card", follow the prompts, come back here and tell us what you bought with your $1,000 gift card!!

In my test, I got LOST in the ad shuffle and that is exactly what is suppose to happen.

Can you imagine everyone getting a FREE Gift Card!!!??

Hey man, that is their game and YES it is shady. But the majority of CPA marketing in general is deceptive in one way or another.

For example, do you really think that super hot chick on the POF dating ad is really interested in meeting guys {age:} year-old from {state:} that have kids and are 5'6" tall when you join their site? LOL

The whole walmart thing is a no go. You can do this on property like that, they will catch on to you before you can take 3 steps toward a car, person, or pole and kick you out. You have to think deeper and come up with better places that have high traffic and allows you to reach them on public property.

I am not new to internet marketing but new to CPA. I took a great course by a guy who was teaching flyer marketing with clickbank/Cpa. He does very well with it and its basically on autopilot for him now.
I was approved by CPAWay and they said they had a handful of people doing flyers ( it was a comment here on the warrior forum.) Honestly, its how I really want to promote CPA offers.
Im happy to do the online stuff ( ie: youtube , PPc etc) but I was looking forward to getting out from behind my computer.
One thing he did was partner with businesses that could use the CPA service ie; auto loan w/ small car dealer. I had a whole plan lined up but now after the fact Im hearing that the networks dont like it.
      Any comments?
