You want Free traffic or paid one?
If you want free traffic then write articles, social networking, press release and classified ad posting. If you want paid traffic then choose pay per click, banner ad and paid classified ads.

plenty of options, it really does depend if you want to use free traffic or paid traffic, here are just some of the methods I use:

Bookmarking, Articles Submissions, RSS Feeds, Website Submissions, Lenses, Hubs, Villages, Press Releases, PDFs, Videos and more.

There are so many options when it comes to free traffic, if used correctly you can make thousands.

I agree with Super Warrior, the best way to create free organic traffic is to create articles, join social networks etc. I have spent and lost plenty of money on paid traffic - it never seemed to balance out profit wise for me!! Good luck.

You may use social networks for making good amount of traffic. You also can do forum participation, image and video sharing, PR submission, article sharing, etc.

These 2 warriors got it right. Press releases are way powerful cause Google LOVES em

The key to using them know is in doing good keyword research to capture traffic for those particular phrases and keyword terms.

Once you get the hang of writing them it should take only about 10 minutes to write a super effective traffic generating press release. Of course the submission process is a different story (shameless plug coming up...you can use my newly updated software of course to help automate the entire writing, editing, and submission process

)

Post in forums that relate to your topic because usually the people in there are targeted traffic. Then I would create a social networking site with facebook and twitter and start manually adding friends/followers to promote you links.

Pay for the traffic if you want it straight away. Try jv rocket search in your search engine for it. The price of it will scare most people away. Articles don't have the same pull now days.

I've always been a forum marketing fan. It's easy and if your product/offer is based on your interests it won't seem so much like "work".
A ton of article sites use to work, however due to abuse Google kind of backhanded them. I still get traffic, however looking like a real person in forums (and becoming known in them) has always been my best kill shot.

If you could possibly find a warrior or an authentic site showcasing people who have a large list of targeted people you want to market to then you could do a solo ad and start monetizing right away. However, be careful with solo ads since they are a little tricky at first. You should make sure the person you do a solo ad with has a verified list and also make sure they've been established for awhile and have a couple of real user reviews.

WARNING TO ALL LOOKING FOR CL POSTER. DATOOL IS A SCAM. I had 3 days to get posting done. Paid 35 dollars, was to post only 10 a day and easily I could see he wasn't starting. When questioned, a few were posted. I can research this stuff and could see there were only about 4 posted altogether. I was very kind, asked for the report which I paid for, avoided me completely, reported it to paypal and he said he would send the report once I took the complaint off of paypal and never sent the report because he didn't post anything. If you recognize datool, pva2all.links AT gmail.com or uvalist.com it is a major scam. Besides that he uses outsources which wouldn't be so bad but it just goes to show what a scammer he is. PLEASE TAKE NOTE! DATOOL IS A SCAM ARTIST!

Sure you can buy targeted traffic from Google Adwords which is a bit pricey but it converts if you know what you are doing. Also, 7search is another source and if you want to go a bit cheaper on the money I would suggest TheTrafficNetwork.co which is a small firm that provides traffic to any website for a low cost that also converts. Its worth a try to put your money on all three but I would highly recommend the last two if your tight on your money.

And of course SEO

Paid Traffic

Bing ads

Adwords

7Search (Need skill)

PPV

Media Buy

If you are not sure and have low budget I would suggest you to try Free traffic. And make profit and with that profit invest in paid ads. And keep in mind free traffic is time consuming and need lot of work.

On the other hand if you need instant result and you have budget to test, I would suggest any of paid ads suggested above.

Always keep in mind, it's not sprint it's marathon
