Websites or Blogs for Main Niche Sites?

Here's my thoughts: a blog requires constant POST updates and it shows a date whereas there's no date as to the post on a website. For CPA purposes (or affiliate marketing purposes), do you think the main niche webpage should be developed as a website or as a blog?

I only ask because a blog would require constant updating, but website you create a couple of pages with good content. You could also just have a blog with PAGES (with content on them) and posts in just one category once in a while to keep the site updated?

What do you guys think?

  • I would create a site with a blog on it, but that is my personal view.
  • Yes, blog needs regular update of content but website does not. If you are using a website for regular content then you can use blog because it's crawling rate increase as you post on it.
  • I would advise you to start a blog... Blog has many benefits over static websites
    - Its easy to write and update content on blog
    - Blogs are easy to promote
    - Its easy to get backlinks on blog
    - Being a blogger you can invite other bloggers to write for your blog
    - If you are blogging, you can easily expand your niche
  • With this in mind, you can have a blog but remove the dates..

However I don't think either would be better or worse in general, it all depends on the niche and how you do it
