I'm sure most of you know this, but do not advertise on adf.ly. I bought 2,000 clicks and got 0 conversions. It is junk traffic. I shoulda known better and thought twice before buying.

Will my CPA network/Affiliate Manager question me or get mad that I got so many clicks and still got no conversions, or will they not care.

Maybe it's because the traffic is not segmented, remember that your traffic is also PPV or CPV, maybe the campaign did not work very well in this type of traffic.

I would recommend that you try to Leadimpact, Mediatraffic, Adcenter, Looksmart or 7search.

    Flies like a fly.

What I noticed about adfly is that their ad is somewhat like a prompt in Firefox that pops up if you want to remember a password. This is not the proper place to put your ads.

If there were some clicks Im sure it was by accident.

They provide very very cheap traffic.I think they provide 1k clicks for just $1.
Obviously their traffic must be junk. But previously I tried few offers which had very weird LP's and they converted very well.

But I would always prefer quality over quantity.

I ran adf.ly traffic on two international offers.

first offer generated $10 bucks at the cost of $5
second offer generated $10 bucks at the cost of $10

adf.ly traffic is good for international offers. converting CPA offers on US/UK/CA traffic is now a hard thing to do even if using so-called "quality" traffic sources.

This is true. I've had a content locker on one of my blog articles. The article ended up going viral. The 1st day it had 35k uniques, the second day almost 50k. I think it ended up making around 2-3 dollars.

They won't allow you to put youtube links up, if that's what you mean.

You can send Adfly traffic to a page with embedded YouTube videos.

It's kind of an open question if that will drive views, because YouTube does not want people driving views that way. If people bounce in 10 seconds, it probably won't help your views, but if the video is interesting enough for people to stay longer than 10 seconds, it probably will drive views.

On a more general note, I'm currently 3K hits in to a 20K test campaign, and I've had 55 optins and 13 unsubs. No conversions, yet. The squeeze is video, with a strong intro, but I have a lot more testing to do, and I have no idea what the final quality of the subs will be.

It wont count on youtube since it only counts views from people that watched the FULL video. But it might work for other video sharing sites.

I used adf.ly and everything was great. I buyed only 3k visitors from Portugal for only ~7$ I got 243 conversions. In your case... I don't know but maybe your landing page/offer wasn't so good for that traffic.

    Good luck

I use this traffic to build a list and then send offers. The majority of people using adf.ly links are file sharers, downloaders and a gateway to illegal content. Collect emails and then send offers to match and watch the conversions.

I have used them before. it's ok for list building on single opt-in..list response ok but not great. The traffic converts very well with amazon products but Amazon hates direct traffic from any paid source. They will ban your account. They have done already. There has been massive issue with this. Many people made a lot of sales using adf.ly but never got paid

Your affiliate manager should help you find a converting offer for that traffic! What country did you target? What kind of offer? You should figure out a better landing page or consider different offer.

Maybe you could have got better results with a different campaign and even turned a positive ROI, but, yes, their traffic is pretty low quality. You can try to run a few more campaigns there and see if you can find something that converts well (the traffic is cheap, so it wouldn't be expensive to test), but I wouldn't spend too much time and effort on this platform.

I have tested adf.ly on a Bingo campaign with payout of $12 and sent about 3000 clicks for $6 and received 1 conversion. kind fair for me 50% ROI. So you may need to test more offers.

Yes, the ROI was decent, but sending 3K visitors to an offer to get just one conversion and make $6 net is... hmm... unusual?

So, IMO, it proves 2 things:

      1. it's possible to turn a positive ROI on Adf.ly (I know it was just 1 conversion, but...)

      2. Their traffic really sucks

I agree with you williamrs, I am not saying if its good or bad. The result was fair, but I cant be sure to get that conversion again using same amount of impressions. I was just testing.

          Looks interesting

I was also doing tests with this type of traffic, and I can say it works but I do not think it profitable for email offers / zip maybe trial offers work, but I do believe that this traffic can be used to increase visits to a website.

The principal problem is that not has a specific target audience.

          Check my results:

Um...50% ROI and you stopped? Why?

After reading every post in this thread, it sounds like there's a LOT more testing to be done AND, if my intuition is accurate, there may be a gold mine here that others are simply overlooking by NOT testing enough.

I wouldn't use their traffic for a niche website or product. But if you could get something that could go viral it could be useful.

It's all about your website as well. If you haven't converted regular visitors that actually land on your site, then you probably won't convert random people from ad.fly.

2,000 visitors is not a mass amount of people to say that you were scammed honestly, especially for that little amount of money invested.

Your affiliate manager will not "get mad" -- They probably wont notice at all, but it's in your best interest to contact them and explain how you set up your campaign and ask what you can do to improve. They are there to help you succeed. If you have a good AM, he/she will set you in the right direction to make sure you're earning money rather than losing it.

Ad fly is like most of the second tier traffic sources in that they don't control any traffic. They have publishers who get paid for those clicks, and ad fly brokers those clicks to you.

Check with them if there is a token you can use to track the traffic to the publisher and run a test campaign with a proven offer, cut the bad ones and only keep the good ones. This is how I used to do with lead impact and 7 search to optimize my campaigns.

If they can't help with it I would stay away from them.
