This redirection is by using some other resources and it doesn't involve php.
I have always gone with the method which I used in my thread for redirecting and this is way easier than using php.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^without wwww url
RewriteRule (.*) with www url$1 [R=301,L]

Dont use PHP redirect, instead use js redirect. Its much safer in case the landing page is banned by PPC platform.
