It just means email list building.. you are collecting an email list to send out emails, it can be to promote your own offer, cpa offers, etc, etc..

  • In the marketing sense the term 'list building' refers to a list of potential customers because not everyone will buy what you are promoting.

If you have ever faced a circumstance where you needed to enter your details (usually your name and email) before you download something... then the likelihood you will be on someone's list.

So Why Build and Use a List?

Take for example a clothing store. Customers come... looking around... possibly buy something and then leave. But once they have left... the store has no way of getting in contact with them and perhaps convincing them to come back again.

If the store had the customer's contact details... they could inform them when they have a new stock of in or special offers. By doing so the customer would then feel obliged to possibly come back or at very least would think about doing so.

Whatever niche that you are in... if you had a list of previous customers then whenever you have a new product or some other offer... you would be able to send out emails and see if anyone is interested... simple but very effective.

There's really no good number for this. A good list is a profitable list. As soon as you can monetize the list for a profit, is as soon as it becomes a good list.

There's no real answer for this question. You can have a 10k email list, which makes you only a small amount of money. But you can also have a 1k email list which makes you lot of money.

The keyword is "targeted". try to create targeted lists instead of big, untargeted lists.
A smaller targeted list is a lot more valueable than a huge untargeted one.
