Sorry, But does your landing page redirect all visitors to your CPA offer? If so then make sure to have an international offer or use a geo redirect service to avoid getting your ads disapproved by FB ad team and your account from getting banned.

Your numbers aren't right either. You are assuming every person that clicks is going to sign up, giving you 95c profit. That won't be the case, you need to get your CPC lower.

I'm not gonna lie, I feel very strong that the conversion rate will be high with the way I worded the FB Ad and how well the landing page is setup. Then again, this is my first CPA "rodeo" so I could very well be learning the hard way and not even know it lol.

So what are some "good" numbers that you guys would go for? Let's say the offer pays $1.20 and converts with an email submit.

LOL! You feel... Feeling means nothing. You feel like you are going to get a 100% conversion.

Dude, your math is so far out of whack. Do this. Run the offer, then come back and ask for help optimizing. You will not know how well things will work until you push the button to go live. But, you are setting your self up for a huge disappointment.

you are setting yourself up for failure by expecting a 100% conv rate,with highly targeted traffic you may convert at 30% at best,at .45cpc would cost 1.35 per signup,then after a few days you will get scrubbed and your conv rate will go down to 10%,unless you can get your cpc under .10 cpc,i would stick to a higher paying offer

Your enthusiasm is wonderful and whether or not one can say "is it this easy" is solely based on money earned and the sustainability of the program, neither of which do you know yet.

It is also very easy to set up a squeeze page and get some traffic and get sign ups or to set up a blog, write some articles, get traffic and promote programs.

The proof of whether any of this works is how much money is made and for how long.

I agree with a few others, your numbers are way too high. I'm no CPA expert, but from what I've experienced so far, I believe you're going to be lucky to get between a 2% - 30% conversion - once people click through to your offer.

Yes it is that easy to get a campaign going. But you are in for a seriously rude awakening once you start getting clicks(assuming you do). Your cpa payout is so low and your cpc so high that you are going to get absolutely raped when you see what real conversion rates are like.

Its very, very easy to make a direct-linking CPA campaign on Facebook. Its an entirely different thing to make it profitable.

I think that due to some recent changes in PeerFly terms, links from FB Fan pages are not allowed anymore...although it is not really clear.

I was going to write a post with some math and conversion statistics.. but changed my mind...

Give it a gamble (I wouldn't) but limit your bet. I am sure the results will tell you the rest. Better yet, save the money and learn more about the CPA game before you jump in.

Agree... Hopefully there won't be too much money spent before realizing what the actually conversions will be, but no doubt will be a good learning experience. Make adjustments and optimize until you make it profitable.

I still have my shorts...shirt, shoes and hat! When I made this thread, I had just submitted to Facebook but as it turns out, the ad was rejected for some reason. The only reason I remembered this thread existed was because it's now a PR1

(9 more people left before it goes to page 2! lol)

Anyways, back to topic. I'd love to be able to do this but I gave up rather quickly once I found I couldn't get my CPC as low as I wanted. I researched a little bit and I found the FB CPC would only lessen if my CTR rose.

Basically, I'd love to get good at this someday but right now, I'm sticking to SEO.

SEO takes too long
if you do manage to learn this, (I dont think you can do so on THIS forum) you need some high velocity expert forums like stack that money or Aff Playbook................If you do manage to learn it, I believe it is well worth the time invested. You are leaving a lot of money on the table by sticking to SEO

There are other free ways to get clicks to CPA campaigns outside of SEO that are more immediate.

And they are on this forum so do some searching and think outside the box.

Hey man, thanks for the reply. What got me interested in this to begin with was a CPA offer I actually fell for on Facebook. I would LOVE to figure out how to do it because it went viral FAST. Here's how it worked:

I saw a friend share a post to Facebook like this: "I Love Olive Garden!" and the link was to a CPA, offering a free Olive Garden gift certificate just by entering their email. (Possibly could have been a survey but I think it was just an email submit)

Anyway, the directions on the page were something like this: "All you have to do is enter in your email address and share this post to your Facebook!"

So obviously people were sharing like crazy and submitting their email address. I can only imagine how much money the guy made because I had a few different friends doing it and other friends who didn't know those friends doing it as well.

I checked the site about 2 weeks after I saw it and it was down so I'm not sure what happened.

Does anyone know how to go about doing a CPA offer like that? Or even seen one like it? My head is in the game and I haven't given up on CPA just yet, I'm just focusing on other things with most of my time until I can wrap my head around this branch of IM.

This is the kind of post that gets me excited. Someone who believes. This Warrior has faith.

The difference between a successful person and a unsuccessful person is that the successful person TOOK ACTION!!!

Now remember....running ANY kind of paid traffic is all about OPTIMIZATION.

Who gives a rats ass if you have to start out paying .45 or hell even .60 cents per click....your VERY FIRST objective is to Fail Fast & Gather Data.

The GOLD is in the data(results).

Guess what...even if you only run a few hundred clicks to your offer and only get 2-3 conversions...GET EXCITED!

That means theres somebody on FB that your ad,landing page and offer appealed to.

Now your job is to tweak & test each item(ad,LP) so that your ad,LP and offer appeals to even more of those types of people.....What Type? The type that give a damn enough to click your ad, read your lander and enter their personal details on the offer form in the first place.

The beauty of FB is that you're able to target your ads right to 'those types of people'.

Now...obviously its best if you can already have an idea of WHO you're ideal target is before running the ad. So heres what you can do.

You didn't say what kind of offer you're running so lets just use a quick example...

Lets say the offer is an email submit for a Free MacBook Pro::

1. Run a Google Search on the phrase .....Free MacBook Pro
2. Take one of the urls from the Top 3 results
3. Go to Alexa..enter the URL in the search box..click go
4. View Audience (those types of people)

Does doing the steps above always ensure a profitable campaign....of course not don't be silly.

Just remember OPTIMIZATION is the key.

Uh that's assuming a 100% click to conversion ratio. well it really depends how many clicks it takes to get you a single conversion right? If it costs you .45c and it takes 50 clicks to get a single conversion, and that conversion only makes you .95c.. I'm pretty sure you will be going out of business soon.. lol.

Even a 2% conversion rate on CPA offers on facebook is very high. That means if you get 100 people to go to your CPA landing page, only 2 will sign up. That is the best case scenario. Do the math here. It's gonna cost you 100x PPC and you will make only 2.40. That's not a good deal in my opinion buddy.

It's not that easy to make money online. I mean it's simple, but you have to test like crazy to get a profitable campaign. You have to test like 20-40 campaigns until you get one that is profitable. Once you get one, scale it up and go crazy. But the problem is that most people won't do that, because they are too lazy. So if you want to be successful, do what others won't do. TEST like mad!

I am by no means an expert, but based on my experience, I can say that this is definitely NOT true. A 2% conversion is terrible and many people have done MUCH better with the right offers. I am very new to this, but I just had a campaign converting at 14% from direct-linking Facebook traffic alone. Its pretty damn hard to make money if you are only converting 2%.

Too low of a pay out. You'll have to lower the CPC a lot in order to get that campaign profitable enough to keep around. You're assuming the conversion rate will be much too high. Re work the numbers and re set your predictions to something reasonable because if you don't you're just going to quite when your goal comes NOWEHRE close to what you had predicted. Don't get discouraged when it fails. Just learn from it and move on to the next campaign.

I agree with PPC-Coach; at least this guy took action and got started! That's the first step. Then the next step is how to respond and deal with frustration / failure. At first, failure frustrated me, but then I realized it is part of the learning curve, and you have to work through it - and analyze your data. "Buying data" is what I've heard Chad Hamzeh call it and that makes sense to me. You really aren't failing, but buying data. The question is this: do you learn from the data you bought?

I hope dminorfmajor will stick with it and find success!

lol you have only set up the campaign, but something is lost in translation in your IM research, no way is every click going to convert, with this current campaign your will 99.9% likely to loose money. But you live and learn when you realise you lost money then you will make adjustments and reduce your click price and focus on free traffic as well.

Firstly, congratulations for taking action, lots of people just read, read and read, and don't do anything.

Secondly, to make things work with facebook, you need very cheap clicks or very high conversion rate on your offer.

As far as I know, facebook doesn't like direct linking to email submits, so you need to use prosper202 to redirect and also to track your traffic.

Regarding to how to get cheap clicks, I use this tactic, however, you need some money at the beginning to test enough ads(even so, I cut non-performing ads early to avoid unnecessary clicks):

1.start with lowest suggested bid
2.wait for ads to get 7500 impressions...if ctr lower than 0.14 pause it
(if an ad got 7500-10k impressions and other ads didn't get impressions, pause it)
3.when finding a good CTR ad, after 100 clicks, lower the bid 20% below suggested bid.(if the CTR is good, the suggested bid will go down without changing anything)
4.after 150 clicks do the same
