AD NETWORKS

It's been a while since i am a part of cpa lead (planning to join other cpa networks) Never made money with it, because I am just afraid of the free methods to promote things (movies etc with youtube) besides, it is ilegal.

One day i woke up and i had this great idea. I am a singer, and i have a band, so i was thinking of doing covers of popular songs and post them in youtube. As I have to promote incentivized offers i was thinking that I could record the covers in like mp3 format and offer that to people.
So that way, they can see me performing and if they like the cover, they can download my version just by filling this short survey.

I was wondering if there is like a youtube tool or something, like google adwords, to do the right thing with songs

That sounds like a great idea! Youtube is full of people who love to listen to cover songs, and they download mp3s that they like. You could also make music videos of those songs and If people like the song, they are going to try to download it, so you ask them to fill out a survey before downloading it. You could also create a website for your band, where people could go and find new tracks, and you could do the same thing there, with the content locker.
Two questions, what kind of genre does your band play? Which artists would you be interesting in covering?

personally i think 'complete survey to download this song' seems to be quite weak.
There are so many tools out there people can rip your video.

Pupsik Actually we make like rock n roll songs, from zztop to Aerosmith (that's whi i am aeronat lol) but i was planning to play some more popular songs like Adele or something.

jordanberg2311 Go viral is the idea, I always listen to covers (the good ones) in hd and all this stuff. That kind of videos always have like 100 thousand views or even more !
About that thing you said, about the weakness of the surveys, what do you suggest doing? Because surveys were like the only approach i ever thought.

  I'm in the music community as well (I do production), and I've had similar thought as well. I haven't put anything into action, just because I felt I could make more money promoting other things, but I'm happy to see that you want to give it a go.
  
  I see less and less of a future in 'selling' music, but that doesn't mean that there's no money to be made. I have a friend who simply gives all of his music away for free, with the thought that he would rather have people come to HIS site to download his songs, rather than some shady file sharing site.
  
  Here's another idea to consider: "Pay With a Tweet" It's like content locking, but people simply share your link on Facebook or Twitter to gain access. It won't make you money directly, but I think more people will be willing to do it, and you can get viral traffic coming to your site and monetize it through other means.
  
  You could also do this: Post live shows to Youtube, then lock the high-quality studio recordings on your site.
  
  Whatever you decide to do, let me know how it work out for you!

yes, its a great idea, but requires that people actually like the songs. Make sure you have a free track.

If you suck, you are up a creek Unless your band is called Coldplay. Then you can suck and make money.

Look, i don't want to brag about anything here, but if there is one thing that i do well is singing . and no, i won't cover any coldplay songs ever.

MTVida that "pay with a tweet" thing is great ! i will definitely consider that !

The first thing i'll do when i upload my first cover is show you what i did, and you tell me if i can be the next american idol lol

  You can't sell covers, you would have to pay royalty costs to the original songwriter for every download (pay in advance for I think a minimum of 100) so it would be a loss making venture.

There may be copyright issues. The music laws are extremely confusing. ASCAP could come knocking. I'd try to at least clear it with my AM just to know it's ok with your network.

Somebody told me that there were certain networks (with incentivized offers) that allowed copyright content such as leadbolt and maybe blamads. I think I should join them.
See... I'm really happy with this idea, i came up with it myself, i think its kind of unique and the traffic will be different. I always listen to covers in youtube, and the good ones go viral right away.
I'm applyng to these networks asap and see what happens

Innovating is the best way to be successful IMO. Most of my own innovations have failed, but my campaigns that have been the most successful have been when I innovated, rather than copying exactly what others are doing.

Something to think about though, is that a lot of incentivized offers are low quality offers that just aggravate the people who do complete them. People might like your music, but they might end up hating YOU if you're making them sign up to deceptive offers.

Not just Youtube You can make your video post it on YouTube and Post it on Facebook.

Especially if you lots of friends on facebook it would go viral. It's just the way you post your video and what you Write.

Like when you post your video on the bottom of you video you can write something like " Share the video to your friends" Give your audience a message so they can spread the word.

That what I do to make $$$$ on facebook I just think outside the box!!!
