Putting flyers on cars?

by icex

I'm thinking about trying to print out 300-500 differnt flyers and put them on cars. Like make a banner related to bestbuy and go to bestbuy and put them on cars and then maybe one for walmart etc. I also thought about making some flyers and putting them up in the malls and perhaps one related to gamestop. Has anyone tried this method?

Flyer marketing haven't tried it but in my opinion I recommend you to do facebook marketing. Im a full time facebook marketer and I can tell you It's pretty damm easyy to make $$$. If you want to hit $50 or $100 a day mark you can do it with Facebook fanpages.

Every time I go into the parking garage and find a flyer on my truck, I either throw it in the trash or report it to the building manager. After reporting it, I haven't gotten the same flyer more than once. I personally don't like people touching or sticking "junk" on my vehicle.

I can tell you from experience this works. I hired some one to drop 1000 flyers on vehicles at a mall. I payed $80 to $90 to create the flyers and $40 for the person, (when he was done I had him call, drove to the mall, and confirmed he did his job. )

      I made 3 sales of $200 - $300 for a high end product.

      It works...!

I personally think your better off posting them in high traffic areas, but if it's legal in your area give it a try

Flyers might or might not work depending on where, remember cost of printing or paying someone to hand them out

Is putting flyers on people's car legal? I'm afraid the security guard will chase you out.

I also think like this. Distributing flyers may create unwanted trouble. So be careful before doing this.

Mall Security, Best Buy or Walmart would chase you out, and they would manually remove all your flyers by hand.............not allowed

Flyers on cars + Auto insurance (pay per lead or pay per call) offers? Sounds like a good idea.

Ya, you could have customized flyers for each car based on the condition. Have flyers or auto insurance, collision repair, rustproofing etc.

      Pure genius!

I used to have people hand out flyers for my carpet cleaning business
to houses. To do lets say 1000 flyers, sounds easy but its a lot of work and supervision to make sure the employee just doesnt dump them all in a trashcan somewhere and that they are in fact really passing them out you have to drive around looking on doors from your car. You are much less likely to run into trouble IMO passing them out to homes, but

Cars are so close to each other and so quick in comparison to homes
    But
Stores, malls, places like that, anywhere really, what typically happens is on cars people immediately trash them, and the property owner immediately knows who to call to complain since your phone number is on the flyer (presumably) unless you just enter a website url

Hmm, I might use a auto insurance advertisement and hit up the movie theater friday. I read that someone changed all of bestbuys laptops homepages to their cpa offer, but sounds like a good way to get banned from the network.

I am also thinking about putting a ad in the newspaper for a auto insurance offer or something similar like life insurance. Any thoughts?

I like the Pay Per call Idea. people have a phone with them 24/7 when they are out and about. By the time they get home, they forget about the flyer.

People are busy (kids, cooking, home work, sports). Just my 2 cents.

I tried banners in the past, like years ago, and they didn't do anything for me. Also, it's a pain in the ass.

        Just my 2 cents. :p

I agree with Scott on this. If you decide to go ahead with this pan anyway I'd recommend putting affiliate QR codes on the flyers. I know Clickbank can do QR codes but I have never used it so I can't speak to its effectiveness.

In my experience working trade shows 99.9% of people throw fliers away or never act on them but occasionally they will scan a QR code on their mobile device.

Flyer marketing can actually be very effective, as long as you're sure that it's legal in your area

It was actually one of the first strategies that Kenster used and he was quite successful with it -- though you can probably expect to get some nasty stares if car owners see you placing them on their windshield.

Okay. Everyone saying this is a waste of time really has not much knowledge on offline CPA. Check out this case study posted by this guy with his CPA+Flyers. His Walmart gift card campaign flopped, black friday shopping spree wasn't too successful but he made a killing from promoting cash loan offers, almost 6 gran from 1 gran investment in a bit over a week I think.

Where you post the flyers depends on what you are offering. I still put flyers out to this day. I mostly promote web design and here is my approach...

I always have a stack of flyers in my car. When I am out and see a car, truck, van, etc... with a vehicle wrap, magnet, advertisement, or whatever for their business. I look to see if they have a website listed on the side of their vehicle with the rest of the info.

If not, I put a flyer on the car, truck, or van, that has a headline that says "We Noticed You Don't Have A Website" blah, blah, give us a call or go to our website.

95% of the time if they don't have a website listed on their vehicle wrap THEY DON'T HAVE ONE. I get a HUGE response from just randomly doing this while I'm out at the grocery store, mall, restaurant, etc...

But it will depend on your area, I live in Tampa and there are tons of cars with vinyl wraps, magnets, and whatnot promoting their businesses driving around.

Im not going to even read the posts.. ok first off... No dont put them on cars... but I owned a huge landscape co. in san diego... Ill give you a little free advice that made me a millionaire every 3 years....

    It is very simple..

    You can thank me later

    1) sandwhich bags
    2) bags of 1/4" crushed rock
    3) Flyer

So 1 sandwhich bag, 1 hand full of rock, 1 folded flyer

    Close....

Then repeat like 5000 times..lol... seriously I made a fortune this way...

Then, wait til like 3am when everybody is sleeping, have all your flyers in huge bags ready to go...

Drive the neighbor hoods with your passenger window down, and start throwing those things around the neighborhoods..

    Hit their lawns...

They have to pick it up...

The bag flys out, hits the lawn, and the rocks make it stand straight up.

    Works, legal, and kinda fun...

    Good luck...

    Hi icex,

    1. You can try flyers but as they said, make sure it's legal in your area to do so.

    2. As much as possible, make the copy of your flyer relevant to the place. E.g. Put chiropractor local marketing offers to the cars outside a chiropractor seminar/meetup. This will make you efforts more effective

3.Speaking of effort, outsource this. Find a reliable kid that you know and offer him 10 bucks to do this.

    4. Put QR code in your flyer. Here's a killer tip: make sure that there's an optin form in the landing page.

    5. Also try these on bulletin boards. A question type headline+intrigue will rake in tons of people.

    Hope this helps!

    regards,
    Craig

Make sure you figure out your breakeven numbers in advance. If the payouts are not very high then it could be tougher. The right copy (flyer) and offer will usually convert just as well offline.

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but yes, putting flyers into mail boxes is against the law in the US. They're considered partial property of the USPS.

Most areas you can go door to door to place flyers, I've done it for side jobs for businesses in the past. It's easy work for college students, especially if they have a rough class schedule. Just check your local laws first regarding soliciting that it varies from each city.

Another note from experience, communities with "No Soliciting" signs are rather likely to call the police

Most likely people will throw the flyer away. I think it will be better to throw flyer on school, if u have student loan or student grant offers. Student are bored in class and most likely will go the the website and convert.

People always knock stuff and don't even say why. It's hilarious. All the people saying "it works" are explaining why it works and how it did for them. All the people knocking this method don't give their results, most of them probably haven't even tried it themselves. I can't wait to try this method.

    1) Get a good, quality offer
    2) Find the Target market
    3) Hand out the damn flyers

Obviously it works more than not according to every thread I've read about using flyers.
