Facebook questions - Bidding and CPC
A couple quick questions about Facebook CPA campaigns. I'm not a noob to the space, but no pro either.
It seems that CPC is determined by CTR and a Facebook's mysterious social metric / quality score during the initial boost of traffic sent to an ad, and then adjusted more slowly afterwards.
If that's the case, and assuming I want to send as much traffic as possible (for this argument's sake), why would I ever lower my bid? If I get a CPC of .25 regardless of whether I bid 1.00 or 10.00, why lower it? Can I 'push' the CPC down by underbidding? In most cases it seems to simply choke off traffic to the ad.
Also, does anyone know how lowering bids affect the bid space? I've seen CTRs go UP when the bid goes down, and I've had it suggested to me that it's because in lowering the bid your bidding on a section of your target group that is responding better to the specific ad.
Thanks! :p
