[Facebook]Low budget, No Experience, A good idea - Should I?

Hi Warriors!

I'm almost starting out CPA and my budget will be 250$.
I am portuguese, and as you may or may not know this market has VERY low competition. I was going to start out with 7search but I decided to look into facebook and I've got some good ideas but I don't know if my budget is good.

I saw an offer in a portuguese/European CPA network about beting online (football, or soccer as americans would call it). It pays 3,50€ (about 4,60$) per free registration. So I went to facebook and targetting 50K people (men, 20-50, wich interests are the bigger 3/4 portuguese teams) and the great thing is that the minimum recomended bid is 0,04€ (0,05$) for CPM and 0,09€ (0,12 cents) for CPC so it is VERY cheap from what I've been hearing and if I broad the targetting to 1 million people I pay the same.

Is this a viable idea? I've some photoshop experience and some imagination, so no problem in testing some adcopies and images.

Also, with this budget would I have any chance to start making money with PeerFly + Facebook? 7search wouldn't be bad to start but I wanted a more stable way of promoting offers.

THANK you!

The idea is good and you should start implementing it and do your testing. Don't expect much in return from your $250, but it's still a good start.

You can't compare facebook traffic with 7search because the traffic from facebook is way much better and you should stick to facebook instead.

Yes, I'm not expecting to make 1000$ but if I usa a facebook coupon and with that I generate 200$, I reinvest it, and since I have the data the profit would be better.

      Thanks for the advice.

      People keep sending sugestions

No way :/ I'm a begginer, to get accpeted is difficult and they have no problems in deleting my account for almost no reason.

$250 is a decent start, just make sure you do everything right - you need to be sure to track everything correctly and make sure you go in with a strategy.. $250 will get you started, but you will need to definitely bring more to the table if you want to make a splash..

Do I need to track on Facebook or you meant tracking conversions?

      Sorry for so many questions

They speak english too in Portugal right?

Or are you just targeting that language only?

You'll need a system for tracking conversions so you know which ads are profitable - your conversion rate will allow you to calculate your target CPC... There's plenty of ad platforms that would give you a free trial - SAM, SAT... you could also do it with an affiliate platform like LinkTrust. Lots of ad networks have their own internal platforms for tracking conversions as well, if you sign up with them (and stick with their offers) it'll be less up-front work than if you try to do it yourself. Of course you can run whatever you want if you stick with your own setup.

Also remember that FB associates a cost with keywords - you'll end up bidding higher and cutting into your profit margin if you use popular keywords - you can check FBs 'suggested bids' and how they differ if you use "FIFA" as a keyword, vs... I don't know, "lawn bowling". If you stick with expensive keywords you'll need to compensate by increasing the awesomeness of your ad and copy (increase the CTR -> decrease the CPC).

      Good luck!

I would mention few pointers to you if you are starting with facebook ads.

    1) Targetting, make it laser target, if you are having a good ad copy, you will pay in pennies.
    2) Track, track, track. Find the winner click. Make your adcopy compelling, don't make it like an advertisement, make it like an engagement channel.
    3) Bid 4-5 cents above suggested bid. Once you get some clicks, your CPC will start lowering, dont just pound on lowering your CPC, take upper limit and lower 3-5 cents below upper limit.

In summary : targetting, good adcopy, bidding and then $$$$.

    Good luck.

I heard some dudes spend like 20$ to see if the adcopy/image combination and that's why I thought it was little, but it isn't much also.

Nowadays, $250 + Facebook won't take you far, but back when I started, I got my first conversion after spending $30! That conversion still makes me money today (recurring payments)

I'll probably start with CPC since the conversion rate should be good on facebook and once I get a better CTR i change to CPM, so I shouldn't take 30$ to make my 1st conversion

Oops, sorry to mention. I made the conversion on a $65 product from clickbank.

That's not too bad for a newbie eh?

Oh, that's another story :p I was talking about a conversion of a registration for example, but until now you've got almost 100% ROI so its pretty good.
