You can use 7search for list building. 7search is one of the good networks among the 2nd tier ones after Adwords.

If you are looking for paid methods then facebook and adcenter the best ones.
But to promote in adcenter you can't just go with simple squeeze page. You need to have some relevant and useful content posted on them.

Another option would be buying solo ads or doing ad swaps. It works great for me in IM niche but I have not really tested this in big scale in other niches till now.

You can use almost any traffic sources to build your list. POF, PPV, Facebook, Google adwords, 7Search or Mobile ad networks.

Exactly, i'm using PPV, Social, Mobile and Soloads to build lists. Adswap is also a great way, but should pay attention to some spammers.

I'm using adf.ly right now, but it's purely a learning process for me. I'm checking my squeeze pages for conversion rates, and using only interstitials. It's been an interesting experience. I don't recommend going the same route for list building, but it's giving me a very cheap insight into the whole process... I have heard a lot of great things about solo ads, though. I'm about to try a few solo ad offers from Reed's list of solo ads.

I would really suggest that you should try Facebook Ads and POF for list building. Other sources like PPV Networks, Microsoft Adcenter and 7Search are also great.

Test, test, test and see which one's converting well for your offers.

There are many options available. You can use some free methods like posting on relevant forums and blogs then linking to your landing page or you can start with some PPC networks that will not 'burn' your money. For this I recommend starting with 7search.
