Affiliate Application Best Practices

Question for my Fellow AM's and Marketers:

AM's:
What do you think are the best ways to verify a new publisher applying to your network? Copy of license? Skype conversation? First born child? haha

Marketers:
What do you expect to have to offer? What do you think is fair to be required for application?

Phone conversation. That's where you can easily judge if person is fluffing or not(exceptions are always there.)

Phone conversation is a given - you need to communicate. But what else?

I've started having to ask for copies of driver's licenses. So many people apply under fakes names, which doesn't make sense. I don't care what country you're from, just be honest! If you seem like a good partner, let's work together.

But lying about your identity is the worst way to start off a relationship.

Any other suggestions for checks on qualifying pubs?

Pubs, what do you think is fair and reasonable?

You could indeed ask for a scanned ID (passeport, etc..)

As you said the phone conversation is a good way too to establish a relationship and get to know your publisher/network better.

Also, I like it when there's some kind of free comment textarea to talk about how we plan to advertise etc, instead of the classic small inputs

Peerfly was very good in this matter.

    1) Email verification.

    2) Automated Phone verification.

    3) Photo Id verification.

You can take extra step of conversation. In that way, you will only have golden nuggets, but make sure your exclusive offers to lure super affiliates.

yes, peerfly was the strongest and best I've seen. Luke and his team are awesome.

but get this, i got a license yesterday from a "Jason Huggins". 21 yr old looking guy. Born in 1967... poorly edited. unreal.

it's really ironic, but the biggest thing is honesty.. be honest when applying, i've never had an issue with getting into any network by being honest and that includes when i first started (mind you a few things have changed since then)
