Google Adwords support BLASTS CPA marketing

So i was speaking on the phone today with adwords support over an issue i was having with my first 2 campaigns from max bounty. I was doing no no hair removal and hydroxatone face lift cream. So Im on the phone with support talkin to someone very friendly and shes warning me on the phone again and again that i have to be REALLY careful doing CPA marketing on ad words because if i send people to low quality landing pages or dissaproved sites I can have my adwords account banned permanently. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation she cuts me short and tells me she wants to be really up front with me. She says to me, "99% of CPA affiliates do not make money on adwords, its the individual companies selling a product that make money, They would be doing the advertising themselves if it was profitable and I would suggest you keep that in mind going forward......"
Basically shes cutting to the point and telling me to quit before i hemmorage out too much $.

WTF guys is CPA a huge scam to get small affiliate like me to waste my money doing there advertising for free? I was really put off by that conversation and Im not quite sure what to do going forward. I'll admit im new to CPA but i spent $200 today on clicks and not a single conversion at all... getting murdered so far

Doing CPA marketing through PPC can definitely be profitable if you are patient. Many people brush off PPC because they fail right away, but you should never expect to be profitable right away with a PPC campaign. The key is to track absolutely everything and target the right keywords. MOST keywords will not be profitable for you, but if you track properly, you will easily be able to tell which keywords are profitable and which ones are not. After you filter out the keywords that are not profitable and keep the ones that are profitable, then you have a winning campaign. Of course that's just the gist of it, but it does work. All it takes is patience and tracking.

Dude, put your ads on pause until you figure it out.

I used to run a campaign for Musicians friend that was very successful and back then I didn't know what I knew now as I was direct linking.

The secret I found is that if you spend money, you need to have more than one method of making money with that traffic.

You can tweak your campaigns until the cows come home but here's the problem with that...

    A. After a certain amount of time (usually the first day and this differs from niche to niche) the people who saw your ad will see it again and click on it again. This is why numbers start out good then go to crap.

    B. Imagine a brick & mortar comparison: If you only have one way of making money with this traffic, (The CPA ad) then it's like you have a shoe store that only has air Jordans, doesnt have socks, shoe laces, caps, etc. See what I mean? People come in and buy shoes and that's it, when they could have bought a pair of shoes, shoe laces, socks and a cap.

I haven't seen your campaigns but it sounds like you have one pair of shoes in the window and paying out the butt to get the traffic, the traffic is probably old and have seen your store before but only once they enter.

Tonight after you pause your ads, re-invent your funnel.

    1. Build a list
    2. have 3 follow ups
    3. Do broadcasts
    4. have other offers in the niche
    5. have awesome interaction with visitors on your site. (Software, games, surveys)

There are of course a ton of other things you can do to provide a really cool service so that Google is cool with you and sees your visitors enjoying the experience, but these things I hope you are doing at the minimum.

Also, of course tweak your ads, and optimize your opt in rates, etc but the monetization thing is big and the scheduling is big.

Adwords support people are not qualified to offer advice on what works with CPA marketing. They do NOT want CPA marketers on there, so of course they're going to say it doesn't work.

It does work. It's harder now then ever on adwords, but you don't need adwords to make money with PPC at all. You can completely ignore them and do very very very well daily still.

If you are bent on using them there are two solid ways:

    1.) Cloaking

    2.) Pseudo Agency

Those are both very large topics, but they do work. Cloaking will end up getting your account banned eventually so you need a constant source of new ones. (Yes it's still possible though). Pseudo Agency is one that is not as black hat but not 100% white hat either.

You can also build out huge sites that provide a ton of unique value to their users if you want to take that route. Did you know the businesses ARE allowed to use squeeze pages? (real businesses that is).
