How do you get a low CPC with Facebook ads?

I just setup a test campaign on Facebook and it's running me $0.50 CPC.

The ad is targeted to a specific demographic and an offer that suits it, but I've been reading about people getting $0.05 and $0.10 clicks - any insights onto how this is done?

The ad is targeting women in the US between the age of 30 and 60 (the product is specific for that demographic).

Here's the stats so far. Yes only a few clicks, but I was kinda stunned when I saw the CPC:

You can lower your costs by generalizing your campaign, the broader your search the less you will have to pay.

I would advise against going after straight CPC on Facebook. Look into their CPM model.

Take a look at your CTR, which is 0.009% and incredibly low. If you can manage to get some killer ad copy, some higher converting images (do tons of split testing), and get a higher CTR then you can definitely lower your cost by switching over to CPM.

    Hi mate,
You can go as low as you can in facebook ads.
You can see it in the faqs in the fb ads section.
And you can fix your prices to get more from lower price.

Your CPC lowes the more you spend, also the CTR you get. Your CTR, CPC etc will fluctuate every day depending on your CTR.

Just want to add some advise. Pointing your ads to Facebook pages also lower your CTR.

Your CTR is way too low....and you have only 2 clicks...and you have only 1 ad...3 mistakes that keep your CPC high....

So set up 10 ads let them run for a day or so...(you daily budget...raise it to $10) kill all ads who have a CTR lower than 0.1 and your bids will automatically decrease.

I have to say that for this kind of product your CTR is very low. I think you should try to increase it then you can be gainer.

Are you saying cost is high? I find it better than Adwords but limited options in FB being a social site.
