Is CPA as 'simple' as this??

Its as simple as you make it,
Im tracking all my traffic and CPA networks with one central platform.
Which makes it easy to track what LP/offer convert better and just love it.

It is simple as that if you take action but it involves research,testing and dedication.

It can be, but I think you're over simplifying this step:

• Design a banner that will compel the viewer to click

It can take quite a while to find a banner that is actually going to get you the CTR needed to get out of the negative. Need to test a bunch of different ones, track everything, and keep testing until you find a winner.



The upside is - once you find one it can be good money for a long while!

At a very basic level, is this a worthwhile approach??

• Find a product that I think will convert (on Clickbank or similar)

I wouldn't find just a product on ClickBank. Jump into CPA marketing and get with a cpa network. You'll have much more of a financial gain going this route.

• Identify a demographic the product will appeal to

First Identify what is appealing to YOU. From there, focus on the demo of that product. One of the many sites that can give you a glance is quantcast.com

• Rent some ad space on a website that is visited by the target demographic (via buysellad.com or similar)

This can definitely work but explore other types of traffic with this such as PPC.

• Design a banner that will compel the viewer to click

Once you find a product either within Clickbank or another affiliate network; most of the advertisers will have already created banners for you to test with.Sometimes designing your own can definitely work, but at least test with whats given to you first.

• Earn commission when visitors click my ad and make a purchase

This is your typical Clickbank style of programs however with CPA marketing, your getting paid for the action of the user. These actions are well beyond just your typical purchase program.

• Earn profit when commission revenue outweighs the cost of the ad space

Test Test. And even if you are earning profit, test with similar products / offers with your traffic source.

• Measure, refine, repeat

Agreed.


I'm guessing that this process should ideally also involve capturing email address and building up a list for re-sells etc?

This is a good step, and is definitely worth doing at some point.

People do this. Our network is one of those companies who makes money online promoting offers on a daily basis.

As simple as that but needs to research, experiment and lastly do it in actual.

It depends how good you are and how efficiently you are applying your knowledge on it.
