CPA with PPV - Squeeze or Offer Rotator?

Hey Warriors,
It's been a while since I've posted, had to take a break from some of my IM initiatives.

But I'm back in the game, and among other things, one of my goals is to master CPA with PPV traffic. To that end I have:

1) installed Prosper202 on one of my domains for tracking.
2) I have created a custom landing page promoting an offer (using one of my LPDesigner templates that I customized.)
3) I've created a squeeze page with free report related to the niche.
4) I started sending traffic to both from MediaTraffic.

What I am seeing, and it's still early, is that neither the squeeze or the offer is converting. However, this should be a good, lucrative niche, and the offer is with a reputable network/advertiser.

So, understandably, testing my designs on both pages, as well as the keyword and URL targets, would be a logical next step.

But even beyond that, I am actually torn between just focusing on building the list (tweaking and rotating different squeeze pages until I find one that converts etc.) and the temptation to start seeing money from my efforts to reinvest in traffic. I am considering thus just setting up a rotator with multiple offers (direct linking or possibly custom LPs) until I find one or more that convert well with my traffic.

As a compromise, I tried doing a rotation between the offer and my squeeze page, however it seems that I can't use P202 to rotate those AND still be able to track conversions on each - when I try to set it up that way, the rotate function just doesn't work, it serves the same page repeatedly.

Any thoughts on the above would be appreciated to help get me un-stuck and feeling confident about the direction I should move in. I want to get this working for me, and I know I can - but I want to proceed with caution and appropriate due diligence to avoid bleeding any more money than I need to for testing and identifying the winning combination.

Thanks in advance!
-Doug

    Thanks DrunkenMonkey!

I do have an offer on my thank you page, but I had not thought of rotating it which of course makes perfect sense. Using WordPress, not sure if I can use a URL rotator for that thank you page, but seems like I probably can.

    Quick followup questions:

    1) Do you set your autoresponder for double opt-in?

    2) Does your thank you page have the offer along with a download above or below it? Or is just the offer and then they get their freebie (report, ebook, software, whatever) via email attachment or separate download page?

    Nice post SpeedyLikesKJ!
I agree with you and DrunkenMonkey that CPVLabs would be the way to go, given everything you described about what it can do.

My inclination at this point would be to make Prosper202 (or Bevo) work for me right up until I bank the $297 + the $50 or so for a VPS at Beyond Hosting. Maybe that is not the best way to think about it, and I may ultimately bite the bullet and just do it. Will ponder that a bit.

I bookmarked your post, will be revisiting I am sure. Again, thanks!

    EDIT:
Sorry for my ignorance on this question: Regarding fully tracking conversions, and following a lead through the funnel all the way to conversion - it seems that we would need to be able to put tracking code on the advertisers page, but not all advertisers offer or support this. Can you elaborate on that or point me to one of your blog posts that does?

Hi sorry for late response just seen your question , Well On advertisers end you do have two options Post back URLs (CPA Networks use this) or image/iframe pixel code , to place image/iframe pixel code you will have to contact advertisers and ask them to add code to conversion page . tell them something like

Can you please place tracking pixel to the conversion page (page displayed when conversion is done is complete )would be easy for me to track conversions and to know what keywords are converting as i have planned a big media buying and ppc campaign and would be necessary for me to know what keywords are converting for me .
I know many advertisers do hesitate but when i contact them with something like this they are always ready to help ....

I would hold off with the list building until after have you a campaign converting. Then I consider list building.

This is how I do it because it is easier to test and track a campaign that converts on the spot, opposed to a email list. I always want to know the traffic converts first and foremost.

Other than that I agree with everyone else advice! Good Stuff!
