Hi there,

I've been watching this forum for awhile and researching extensively on PPV traffic. I haven't signed up for any courses and I don't intend to, at least until I have more practical experience. I got accepted into a CPA network and I'm thinking of starting my foray into this area of IM soon.

I'm starting with a small budget (about $500) and should be going with LeadImpact first. How much should I be spending to test offers and realistically what can I expect in terms of time it takes to break even and revenue?

ANY advice at all would be appreciated!

With a $500 budget LeadImpact would be your best option. When starting out, just remember always start small. There is no need to spend $100's of dollars testing, choose an offer, pick a few targets, and spend up to 2x the payout per target. Don't get overzealous and trying to add 1000's of targets to a campaign that you have no idea will ever convert. Start small choose 5-10 highly targeted URL's and test the waters.

PPV traffic has limitless possibilities for generating income, just remember CPA offers are not the only fish in the sea when dealing with this cheap traffic source...

Save your money first.. I would never recommend investing on advertising without testing it for first.

You should start working on the fundamentals of internet marketing. I have a skype group that teaches these methods

Good choice to start with lead impact. As for testing budget, it's very hard to recommend as everyone has different strategies. What types of offers are you planning on promoting? What techniques are you planning on using. If we know this we should be able to give some input.

First taste the waters and invest wisely. Courses will act as a stepping stone and help you on your way up. Ultimately it depends on how you will get the traffic. Learn the ways to get the traffic and you will break even and bank huge even in a week.

I second w3btools... Start small, don't add too many keywords/URLs to test.
And don't kill a campaign too soon.
I set the spend limit to $1/hour instead of $10/day on LI. I like to spend it evenly, because PPV can eat the whole budget in a couple of minutes.

      whoa...wait a minute...if you're brand new to cpa offers...and a newbie in general...then don't drop your $500 on one place.

You need to read up on ppv and learn how to track and also about offers that are targeted to a specific group of people.

Once you find a winner....then scale up and go to these places and drop more money. Trafficvance is awesome....they require $1k to start though.

Could you tell me the exact advantage of setting the spend limit to $1/hour for you? Isn't it too slow to test in that way?

Converion rate can vary with time of day, an offer may convert better in the evenings than mornings. So I like to distribute my budget evenly through out the day. It can be slower yes, but I think the data I collect is more accurate that way IMO.

I got the logic behind it now! So you can test the time of the day in this way, I will keep this in mind. Thanks!

Yes I think that was the problem. Had my friend in the US test the link for me and it went to the right page. It runs through a lot of redirects though, will this affect load time when it appears on the keywords I target?

Would you PPV folks test with more Run Of or test Site Specific targeting?

What is a great Run Of CPM?

Yes an offer's load time can effect how well it converts. Mainly if you are direct linking, but if you are popping a LP then linking to the offer I wouldn't worry too much.

You can try to find the same offer on another network to compare.

Galore, in PPV tracking is the NO. 1 factor whether you'll make it, or not.

It's not expensive, you don't need CPVlabs too. Get a domain, with decent hosting, install Prosper202 (which is FREE), and start tracking.

$500 is a good budget to start. You can start rollin with 2 campaigns, set like $20/day for each campaigns, and start tracking away. Like above said, keep your URLs tight, and small, then slowly weed out non-performing ones (exceeds x3 your offer payout), keep the ones that are breaking even, or profit.

Generally, your campaign budget should be proportionate to the offer you're pushing. The higher your offer payout, the higher budget you need to test for that campaign. I would suggest you to look for offers within 1.50 - 5.00 payout to start with.

Play around with Direct Linking, when you see potential (breaking evens), buy "WYSIWYG Web Builder" for $27 and design your own LPs, with that software you'll become a lander design guru in 2 days.

Once you find a profitable campaign. Rotate from step 1 again.

    All the best to you.

    Jason
