Neverblue & Chargebacks

Hi guys,

Just wondering, when you get a conversion through your account is this still subject to be charged back, or does it go through a quality check before it appears in your account.

Secondly, if it is subject to a charge back, how long does it take to know?

Reason being, I am spending cash on paid media right now and if my conversions get charged back it's going to really impact my bottom line!

Thanks!

    Hey Williboy,

Yes, Charge backs/ Reversals can be done even after the leads have been credited in your account...

The most common reason for reversals are:

    Fraud Leads
    Wrong source of Traffic
Advertiser already has XX email,Name, etc in his/her database
    etc..
    etc...

If you aren't playing any dirty tricks then you're more likely on a safe side and you may hardly face any reversals !

    Regards
    ~Sam~

I just wanted to add my 2 cents to this. Reversals can happen even when the publisher is not playing any dirty tricks. There are times when surfers will not accurately fill out the form that is required to generate a lead. One field in particular that is often entered incorrectly intentionally is the phone number, because the surfer doesn't want to get called. If the merchant tries to call the surfer to convert the lead into a sale, and gets a "number disconnected" message, the lead isn't valid to the merchant.

While many merchants will just assume there will be a certain percentage of bad leads and will adjust their rate accordingly, other merchants will want to keep their rate high (and attractive to affiliates), so they'll reverse these bad leads.

That's one case where the affiliate isn't playing dirty tricks and is still getting reversals. There are others as well. Now if ALL the affiliate's leads had bad data, that's a different story.

In your opinion which cpa offers/niches have the least amount of charge-backs?

    Thanks Sam,

No dirty tricks here - just my AM told me the majority of my leads were charged back which is pretty s**t news.

Thanks very much for clarifying though!

    Thanks for your input Steven.

Although my opening post might of sounded like I was just an inexperienced noob, with little to no experience in CPA. I used to manage the CPA marketing for Groupon in the UK and I used to use Neverblue, Max Bounty and a variety of others and a way that we assured our leads were quality would be to have a specific conversion rate from lead to sale in place, if they didn't hit the quota then we would take further action.

It is interesting, and some times quite harsh to see the actions that vendors some times take on affiliates who are honest and hard-working. But this is the way of the world I guess

Are you talking about chargebacks from lead campaigns or sale campaigns?
